Building Problems Ch-6

            Klyde remained speechless as he played witness in the horrible event. The same devilish smile continued to grow on Klogg's face as he placed his free hand onto Kork's right shoulder; pulling his other arm out of Kork. Immediantly Kokr fell to the floor and hunched over, wrapping her arms around her chest and closing her eyes. "This baby sure packs a wallop... wouldn't you agree?" Klogg asked squating down so that he could see Kork's silently pained face.

           "Well," Klogg said standing up and looking over his shoulder to see Klyde "I'd love to stay and chat but there's a crown waiting for me, so long Klyde! Thank you for your assistance!" Klogg cackled as he walked away. Klyde remained silent and mortifed but reality suddenly gave him a swift kick in the shin. "K-Kork!" Klyde gasped as he sprang up to his feet and darted twoards the injured 'hoodian. He bent down next to her "Kork? Are you o-"

            "Go Klyde..." Kork mumbled as she tightened her hold around her chest. Klyde was taken aback at her statment. "B-but your wounded..." Klyde replied. Kork tried looking up a him but she failed to and remained in the same position. "You fool... go fix what you started.. I'm not important.... go stop Klogg..." Kork ordered. Klyde's eyes widened. "B-but you are important. At least let me take you where it's safe!" Klyde said hoping Kork would agree to his terms.

           Kork did not respond for a few seconds and then she sighed. "Just go fix what you started..." Kork murmerd. "Alright then...." Klyde said. With one swift motion he scooped up a rather surprised and pained Kork in his arms and headed off for the Nursery. "Hey! What do you think you-"

           "You told me to start fixing what I started... so I'm starting with little things which would be getting you to a safe place." Klyde replied carrying Kork. Klyde hesitantly looked down to see Kork's expression to his words only to see one eye closed and the other wincing silently in pain while her arms still clutched around her chest where Klyde could see the puncture wound Klogg gave her. "Kork...I'm.." Klyde said opening the door to the Explosive Shack. "If you say your sorry..." Kork interuptted. "But I am. This is all my fault." Klyde stated.

           "No... in a way," Kork mumbled "Its really my fault. I should've never made that darn brew in the first place." she said shutting her eyes. Klyde looked down at her with sympathy. "Can't it be both our faults?" Klyde asked. Kork slowly opened one of her eyes "I'll think about it..." she said. Klyde entered the Nursery, leaving her in the care of Mongoose and Kat (whom had went to hide there once they heard Klogg was in the area).

           "I'll fix things..." Klyde thought to himself as he headed for Hoborg's castle. Klyde vowed to himself that he was going to get this job right for the sake of the Neverhood...
