Oh boy, scripting has been difficult, but I've been soldiering along.
I never really considered myself much of a writer. I'm better at coming up with ideas and concepts, but I've never wrote stories based around those ideas before. However my passion to make this fan manga is stronger than my self-doubt, and with the help of my boyfriend being my editor I'm determined to see this through to the end.
I'd say I'm about 1/4 of the way through scripting, give or take. The beginning part is taking me much longer to write since it's more character driven and slice of life. The thing about the Universe 6 characters in general is that they were never really given moments like these, and one of the best parts of Dragon Ball is its characters and slice of life moments, so I wanted to take the time to actually give some of these characters that kind of treatment.
Of course one of the problems with slice of life is making it entertaining, so I'm trying my best to do it proper, have it lead into the plot gradually, and not have it overstay its welcome.
Once I get past this part writing the rest should be a lot faster and easier. With my main plot I've summarized and all the scenes I visualized in my head it practically starts writing itself at that point. At least I believe it will, I feel it in my bones.
Changing topics; as I've said already due to the writing process posting artwork is going to be a bit slower. HOWEVER I will be posting sketches and works in progress that I make in my free time and writing breaks on my Twitter. I'm not a fan of posting my incomplete artwork, but I figured doing that would help keep my uploading a bit more active until I can get around to drawing the manga pages. You can find the link to my Twitter in my DeviantID on my page.
As for when I start drawing the manga pages, my boyfriend and I decided that it would be a good idea to complete up to 4 pages at a time and then upload them in bulk, as it would probably help keep its pacing.
Last thing I'd like to mention, prints are still available.
To be honest I've been a bit sad that not a single person has shown interest in any of my prints. I've put a lot of my own money into this and it's just kinda... amounted to nothing? I can't tell if my artwork is just not good enough or what.
I guess a huge part of me expected this to happen though, which is why I'm not shocked.
If anyone is interested in prints you can see my journal here for more info.
Announcements!Prints are now available!
I have everything set up and ready to ship prints out, and all these prints I personally make myself. From buying the ink, the paper, the envelopes, and cardboard, I paid out of pocket for everything with a little bit of help from my family. Heck I'm even paying for shipping.
With the money I made from the three commissions prior I was able to do this, so thank you so much to those that commissioned me!
Currently the drawings that will be available as prints are:
The prints are 8.5x11 in size (as that's all I could really afford at the moment) and any drawings that don't automatically adjust to the matte paper size are fitted with a border to fill in any blank space. You can see examples of what they look like
If you don't like the drawings listed as print options I'm always open to suggestions of what other drawings of mine to make available.
Thank you for taking the time to read this!
