Honestly, that's pretty self-explanatory. But let's elaborate on the why shall we? I've been loading my more recent MyBB designs more actively over the last few months and have been steadily getting more views and faves and just overall traction with my work - which is AWESOME. However, I get the sense after a few months of being more active on this site and seeing other people's posts and interactions that it i hard to have your work taken seriously here if you don't have an aesthetically pleasing profile page. I'm not saying this simply as a person who does not have a customized profile, but as a person who has internalized comments about other people's content and felt immensely guilty for it.
There's literally no reason that someone's art, codes, whatever it may be should be perceived as lesser simply because it's presentation is using deviantART's default layout. That's what deviantART is designed for - it just doesn't make any sense.
If you're thinking - "dA Eclipse is going to be released and this will all be a moot point, Kat, why are you doing this now of all times?" (1) Because I've only recently been more active on the site, and more importantly (2) There's no telling how long these beta tests will last. While we wait for the Eclipse release to overhaul our browsing experience I would like to have every opportunity to share my work with as many people as possible.
Also, if you're thinking "You could easily do this yourself". You're not wrong but I'm simply not as familiar with the backend structure of deviantArt and how to edit it. I've read many tutorials and though these are helpful to gain a broader understanding of the inner function of this art-sharing engine, they leave me feeling unprepared to tackle this one my own.
