Because I like making art and I also like money.
MONEYMONEYMONEYMONEYMONEY.
Just kidding. But really, I'm a college student who has at this point moved out and between work and chores and sleeping and...other...responsible...adult things, I am not doing a lot of artsing. I find this mostly to be that, when I get done with my mindless job, I am tired and in the habit of being mindless. This means I have no inspiration to make art, unless I have a very, VERY good idea that hit me recently enough for Walmart to have not killed it yet, and nothing standing in the way of making it.
That is to say, I lack motivation.
But you know what does a really good job of motivating me to get stuff done?
When people are expecting it.
And furthermore, when they're paying me for that expectation.
Because I mean, sheesh, if you're paying for it, why am I making YOU wait for what you're paying for and ME wait for more things to feed my pokemon/pony/dragon addiction self with? Ahaha. Ha.
So I don't know if Deviantart has any policy set up for extracting commissions within the site. I don't think so, but if there is, someone tell me so I don't call down the mightay hammer upon my own head.
Either way, send me a note and we'll talk. I go off of my time, effort, and resources used (calculating at the wage my job pays me now for time), and as such minimum price is liable to be around $10 (US) for a flatcolored tribal, $10 for a tribal wall-art with a third-party tribal (or lump them together at one time and minimum is $15). I'm also open to vector illustration and some cover art, though these are more difficult and time consuming, and therefore harder to estimate.*
I do not have the steadiest hand. Asking me to "draw your character" is not likely to end well. If I accept a commission not listed above**--such as a hand-drawn character portrait, painting, or sculpture--you have the option to not accept the work, and therefore not pay--if there was any form of "down payment", I will refund it. This means, however, that I retain complete and total rights to the work and will act as such in cases of unwarranted reproduction and/or use. If it was made out of tangible materials I will not send it, and may sell or reproduce it at my discretion. Not that I'm likely to, if it was so bad you didn't want it. I have my own set of standards, and I hate to fail to meet them. HOWEVER, if you have accepted the work and paid for it, I will not refund any monies. If you fail to pay...well, don't steal from me. I don't take kindly to it.
As far as what to send me, tell me what you want, what you want it of, how you want it, and anything special I should know (such as time-frames, whether it's intended for internet or printed display). If there's something I need or want to know about the work, I'll respond and ask. Reference pictures are always nice, especially if you have something specific in mind.
As far as paying me, I like and trust Paypal. Unless you can face me and hand me cash, I like this method the best. I plan on using my Etsy account for transactions--UNLESS DEVIANTART DOES IT BETTER SOMEHOW I DUNNO I'M NEW. I will not accept DA points.
[*Keep in mind these are minimums. I will not be accepting commissions of less than 10 USD*]
[**I will also let you know in-note and prior to sealing the deal if what you are asking me to do is within my "return policy"**]
Hopefully that deals with all of that, and you guys can make me make pretty things again. If you have any questions--even if something was just not clear or I omitted something important, please let me know, either in comment or in note if you're shy.
