Carnival Sunset Eyes

Oh god... just... just no. Let's never try this again! This took me 3 hours to do! I seem to put all the important details into the most difficult spots! I wasn't going to add the dots, but without it, it really didn't look like much, especially the swing thing. Now those dots were a pain to do, because they had to be so small! So give this one some love, it was disgustingly hard to do. Favourite it, even if it does look like crap! XD I'm kidding! (sort of)

The wonderful/horrid idea was from Kennedy Smith.

Alright, so we've got a roller coaster with the sun behind it. Balloons floating into the sky (No matter what kind of carnival/fair/exhibition it is, if there's balloons, there's going to be a billion floating up into the sky) Then on the other eye there's one of those sky swings, a drop... thingy? I have no idea what those are called. People walking around with some of them holding balloons. A ticket booth/food booth/game booth and finally a ferris wheel.

So... for the love of god! Don't ask for a tutorial on this XD!! My camera actually wouldn't be able to handle it!

And as always, it's brighter on my facebook: [link]

OH OH OH! Don't forget to join my Halloween Contest! It's going from now until the end of september! [link]

Inspiring and amazingly beautiful. I just love how the sun in the sunset looks so bright it almosts blinds my eyes. The gold in your eyelashes makes it blend in with the picture on your eyes. Many people can't pull this off, and it is a gift that you can. Once again, you amazed me. I have a full gallery of your artworks in my favorites! You have amazing talent. People like me try to look around and find things like this, but I have never seen a beautiful gallery like yours. I do not see ANY faults, and I do wish that you will do more of this.

First of all: the colours you used are eye-catching. I just want to look closer at this picture (which is very important)

second: I really like the colours you used for creating the feeling of a sunset in the way, that they also create an harmony. It has an harmony within itself and it is fascinating and interesting; you want to look closer and analyse this picture.

all the details are simply amazing and I can't find enough words to describe my feelings. I love the theme of the "sunset" together with the "carnival"; in this way, you created something unique and put together different concepts.

Further I really apreciate that the eyelashes are part of your art, as they give an other interesting accent to the picture on the eyelids.

all things considered, this is a very impressive and meaningful piece of art.

Like I said for the other one of yours (the Harry Potter one), this is just amazing. It's extraordinary and it's obvious how talented you are.
What actually made me fall inlove with it, however, it's the way you exposed it - the setting sun it looks like it's almost moving and so do the roller coaster or the balloons. You just have, in some way, the amazing abillity to create a whole universe without making it something big and spectacular, it's juist the small carnival of every child's dreams and it holds in itself all the warmth and beauty of such moments.

First, let me just start by saying wow! I love how you captured the actual glow of the sun. The light details are just stunning, and the stray balloons are a nice touch. Not to mention the people at the bottom and on the roller coaster look fantastic. I really love your golden lashes, it really blends in with the sun. The layers on the eye are cool. Please tell me how you did the loop? It's stunning! You are an amazing artist, always remember that. I've seen a lot of your work but this one always leaves me speechless.

I have a couple comments to leave in regards to your critique.

1) You gave 3/5 stars on the vision yet your critique doesn't explain what she was lacking in the visual department. You neglected to mention one negative thing and therefore the 3/5 stars doesn't really do the piece justice. I may just be starting out on DA but I can say I haven't seen another piece so quite like this one and the time that it took Katie to do this showed she put a lot of effort into her vision. She didn't give up even if she didn't like how it was going at first. You need to go a little more into depth about what she was missing. Remember, those who read your critique don't know what you're thinking when you wrote this.

2) You neglected again to mention anything about why she lost a star on the technique. I'm assuming because some of the brush work is a tad wobbly (that's natural when painting on your own eyes). Again, more detail in the critique would have been wonderful.

3) The amount of flattery in your critique really takes away from the whole point of giving someone a critique. They're meant to offer helpful criticism in order to aid the artist in improvement. Yours sounds more like it would have been better suited as a general comment (no offense).

Anyways.. that's just my input and where I stand since I figured I might as well justify why I thought it was "unfair" rather than just pressing the button and leaving.

I don't know that I can I can add to anything already said.  It just lives.  I hope you've enjoyed all the praise for all the little lights-- it just wouldn't be a balmy Summer's evening without them.  And those lashes!  The shadows leap off the image and out at the viewer, as if we were really there!

okay, first of all; I'm fascinated by make-up art in general, I think it is interesting how skilled artists are able to transform a face or expression through their talent. That's one thing, and then there are people like you, who create entirely new and wonderful things through the medium of make-up! I am impressed by your ability to capture details in all your compositions, but this one in particular moves me. The colours drew me in and looking at it, I feel like I'm there. Not only that, but I also get a sort of mixed feeling of excitement and dread looking at it, since the sunset and silhouettes create a feeling of transition from the fun safety of a carnival during the day, to a carnival at night-time. I don't think many would be comfortable at a deserted carnival-spot during the night:XD:
What I'm trying to say is; I am incredibly moved by this:D
