Else search for "Laurits Tuxen svantevit arkona." There are lots of versions on the internet but the colours differ very much. If you are in Denmark you can see the painting at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, north of Copenhagen.
It is a good thing that you let the foreground be very detailed and then going towards the background makes it more simple with visible (digital) brush-strokes. It's a technique that gives a feeling of depth, and one that can actually also be reversed. Small precise brush-strokes in the background and large ones in the foreground - scaling the brush-size the closer you get to the viewer.
It was actually just some people on the Diaspora-page (kind of a blog) that asked me to continue. That made me just go ahead. My inspiration was the underground cartoonists of the sixties and seventies and they had this hippie-contempt for style so that kind of helped too.
