TVVT 01

This month's project was on a tight budget since I needed a few other things like pants and shoes, but I managed to squeeze out most of a Tele-style.  I hope I have a spare output jack somewhere, since the money ran out with just that one part left unbought.  I hadn't been planning to drain my account this month, but the day after I paid rent I got a text, 'I want to buy your guitar,' relating to the tri-color superstrat I built last month.  They paid in cash, which I can't spend online, but it both promises good projects next month and justifies spending rather than saving this month's leftovers.  This body was the cheapest one from Supra-Tone, a US-based, veteran-owned company, being mineral-stained basswood with really rough sides and clear worm damage.  Once a roller gets here to smooth bubbles out of veneer glue I'll get to work using the leftover quilted maple from a customer's Bullet refinish.  Meanwhile I'll give that neck a fretjob.  I was sent the wrong model in one respect; I needed 8mm tuner holes to use my good Fender vintage-style tuners, but they sent the 10mm-hole model, with a poorly-installed skunk stripe I'll need to sand down.  The Very Vintage Tele is off to a rough start, but with enough work I can still make it happen.
