Description
I aimed for 'blood red' but I'm thinking now I didn't put in enough brown, because with one coat of tung oil I'm getting something closer to burgundy. Oh well, we'll just how to see how the faint amber of Tru-Oil impacts it. You can see in the neck pickup route where I tested some of my vinegar solution, but since it doesn't turn basswood dark enough I'll be using a black stain instead, probably a bit darker than the one I brushed through the F-holes. I masked around them with blue tape for safety, but ended up doing a fairly neat job anyway, reducing the glare of bare wood from the inside. The body has had a bit of dampening and sanding, but further work will need to wait until a small, cheap laser printer gets here for traceable clipart production.
