There's still some work to do before things can get colorful.  First thing this morning I glued some veneer to the bay cover I'd made, then started work on a fretjob.  I've still got a lot of polishing to get through, then it'll be time to continue finish-prep by moistening the mahogany to raise grain and sanding it back down.  The whole thing will need a final sanding with 320-grit, then I can finally start playing with stains.
