“No Feelings”
Genre: psychological drama, cold aesthetic beauty, the theme of obsession.
This is a story about two obsessions — Love and Art.
Vikfrid is a man who lives through art — an acclaimed master and a respected professor at an elite academy. His students revere him as a living legend, while he himself abides by a strict principle: “no feelings” — only form, light, and idea. At the end of the academic year, his major exhibition will open, where he is also set to present works by his most promising students.
Kate is a new student — too emotional, too honest in her art. She worked relentlessly to study here, and specifically under him. In her, and in her work, Vikfrid notices something he lost long ago: a living spark.
He assigns her private lessons — officially to prepare her for the upcoming exhibition, but in truth because he cannot look away. Every session becomes a trial: glances held too long, accidental touches while correcting her posture, breath mingling with the scent of paint. An attraction forms between them, never spoken aloud.
Vikfrid struggles against himself, turning his student into an object of analysis and critique. He speaks of composition so he does not have to speak of feelings. His insistence that emotions only interfere with seeing the truth begins to erode Kate’s confidence. In response, she tries to prove to her idol that emotions are not a weakness, but a powerful source of inspiration — and she begins painting his portraits: vivid, unguarded, filled with a passion he is afraid to acknowledge.
When Vikfrid sees these works — too close to a confession — he finally loses control and surrenders to the very feelings he has long denied. Gradually, their relationship turns into an obsession that seeps into their art. Rumors, envy, and colleagues’ disapproval spread through the academy. The pressure mounts. Yet Vikfrid still cannot capture on canvas the sincerity and life that fill his student’s eyes and work — only his obsession with her.
He wants to pull away, to stop feeling, but cannot. She wants everyone to know about her feelings — though such things are not meant to be spoken aloud. That was his rule.
A week before the exhibition, Kate finds her teacher standing beside one of her unfinished paintings. It was meant to be a surprise — her confession, one that everyone would understand at the exhibition. Vikfrid is frightened. He asks her to destroy the painting. But it is already too late: the feelings have been painted, and they cannot simply be erased.
Climax: the opening of the exhibition.
He is dressed in black and white.
His obsession and muse are clothed in gold.
Her lips are just as sweet, yet something is missing from her eyes — while confession and fame are already at his doorstep. His latest works are a sensation; his name is tomorrow’s headline. But peace is gone, lost somewhere in her gaze — the one he cannot find in the crowd. At last, he meets the look he is searching for on one of the gallery walls. She stares back at him from the painting, while he himself is only a dark silhouette behind her.
Finale: in a fit of despair after the exhibition, he devastates his studio, destroying nearly all of his works in an attempt to erase the obsession and renounce feeling once again. But one painting remains untouched — the one in which they are both reflected.
Omg, aside from the fact that it's just so so beautiful in its details 'n concept and all, this bun made with a brush rather than with hair clip is so real. I do the same! (also just to say hi, I love ur art, 'n been searching ur account for a long time, since few year ago I saw ur fanart but lost it)
