The Guide, The Essence by katat0nik The Guide, The Essence by katat0nik
Medium: Oil paint on watercolor paper with pva base
Size: 1.75" x 2"

This painting is about the process of creating art, and being open minded... :giggle: It's really tiny (the robot is approx 1cm tall) and looks a lot better in person! Click here to see the painting with a dime for size reference.

I painted this for *amyweber, an amazing friend and artist that I love. She's always getting me to try new things... Last year she helped me understand watercolors (which I was very afraid of at the time!), and this year she is helping me learn to paint with oils :D A lot of the paintings you see in my gallery (including this one) were created with paints provided by her:heart:
Amy and I have a wonderful spiritual/arty connection and I think if my art is special to you, her art will be special to you too. So check out her gallery and if you dig her work, show her some love :D

I got the title of this painting from Lovage's video for "Book of the Month" [link]

Thank you! I used a really small paintbrush :giggle:
Most of my art is pretty small so I'm used to doing tiny art. Larger paintings are much harder for me to do!

No matter the medium, there's that beautifully distinct katatonic vision throughout-- the gaseous atmospherics of outer space, the stunningly reflected light, and the single most adorable robot of all time-- vintage Janey!
