I haven't posted photos here in a year and it looks like no journals for 2.  I haven't been able to stay in touch and connect with the photographers here since dA's site design got so big.  I'm strongly considering closing this profile down.  There are such amazing people here though!

https://katastrophey.deviantart.com/art/friends-are-friends-forever-116482230 My daughter's best friend (the smaller girl in this photo) lost her daddy yesterday.  It was sudden and not anticipated.  He was about my husband's age.  We met them through my daughter's school.  They've been friends for almost 3 years.  My daughter has spent a lot of time with their family, including a camping trip just this past September. I'm so sad for them.  I can find no words to express to them that seem to have any value.  We're supposed to spend some time with our little friend today, hopefully showing her support and the love friends can give at a time

:thumb142460086: I lost my first best friend yesterday.  He was mine for nearly 20 years.  We went out for dinner and when we came back he was hiding in a cabinet, hiding from the light, and had lost the use of one of his hind legs. He didn't want to be held, but he wasn't crying in pain.  I gave him my blanket.  I brushed him.  He laid on the floor beside him and he laid his paw on my head.  I set up a chair beside him, but he wanted to be left alone.  I gave him a dish of water and retreated to cry and to sleep for a few hours. In the morning he was lying on the floor looking out the window.  A place he's never sat before.  I cleaned up

Thanks for the :+devwatch:~! :D
Hello Kara! What's up! One of your photos was linked on my site's Nightly Feature. Tonight's theme is "Join the Rain Parade!".

If you want to see the feature page with your work linked, just go here: [link]

Every night my site, tracingthehorizon, hosts a round-up of links to some of the better photos from the day's search and puts them out there for everyone to see.

If you have any problems or questions, or if you'd like your photo removed from the feature, email me at author.justin.day@gmail.com and I will take care of it.

I do this to keep art on people's minds and bring photographers together! Enjoy!
