I don't find it creepy at all. I've managed to find a few Amtgarders on here.

This one is made out of 14ga aluminum in 6-in-1. It probably weighs less than half of yours. Maybe 7-7.5kg? (I haven't actually weighed it, just estimating.)

Plastidip shields are legal in Amtgard now, yes.

Plastidip on weapons has been approved by the CoM for *playtesting* on non-striking surfaces. I've seen a few weapons out there with dipped pommels, hilts, or courtesy-padded areas that are pretty sweet.

Fair enough. I bought the leather from Tandy, but, if you're looking for a cheaper option, try out thrift stores for old leather jackets. You might be able to piece something really neat together from those
