This is actually my Daily 3 Pillars art Post over at my livejournal! I decided today to draw out my story's main Goddess, the Arch Diellar... she is a holy being living in an ice world up in the heavens. She's quite a heavenly body... I believe this is my first time really drawing her in her final form... Others' I made her look too human, I like this better.

So yeah, I liked this drawing so much that rather posting it in a group with the rest, I'd post it seperately. I like it that much. ^^

Enjoy!

Looks really great! Pink and purple compliment very well together and already growing to love your character design! I also like the "pink swirly" effect 2! :3

Very cool compositionally with the tilted sort of camera angle. And it's a nice touch with the pinks and purples in contrast with the turquoise background. Actually I like the way you did the background in general.

I like her "pink swirly things" too. :P

I looooove backgrounds. LOVE them. Especially organic ones... if I do buildings I prefer to do them with my hands... ohohohohoho.
The swirly things seem to be popular! XD

Nice pink swirly things. How'd you go about that? Was it a brush in your application?

it's 100% done with the Scratchboard tool. I have a very... flicky wrist. I do most of my inking with a real nib pen, so I just applied the same kind of motion and pressure and it produces similar pen strokes... hehe.
It's various pinks set on an Overlay layer, that's how it looks all glow-y... hehehe. XD

Scratchboard tool? Is this exclusive to Painter?
I'm interested in this...

Uhh... I only use Painter, so I'm unfamiliar with any other program having it... hahahaha! I'm not rich enough to have a copy of every art program to exsist... unfortunately, but I quite prefer Painter over my seldom use of Photoshop [back in the day...] Flash MX has a similar tool [the standard pen] that works similar to the scratchboard tool.
Essentially the "tool" mocks the Croquil Pen/Nib combination, which is my favorite way to ink.

this product is actually my favorite to work with. ESPECIALLY Nib #102.

Neat!

I may try it out later then! ^^

And you really don't have to be rich...
