So yesterday I saw an awesome tutorial on youtube which changed my perspective on shadows totally! It gave me the idea to make this photomanipulation about the fairy tail "the little match girl" (in Dutch, het meisje met de zwavelstokjes).
In the fairytail she is in the snow, barefooted but I made her in a snowless winter :)

Thanks to all the stock providers that made it possible for me to make this.

Used stock and resources:
Twig 7
Light and Darkness 27
Campfire
PNG STOCK SET: Street lamps
small town buildings 3d png
Casual Hair #1 STOCK
Speck Brushes
birds- photoshop brushes

The ground textures are from textures.com, the sky is my own

Fire, light and sparks (tip of the matchstick) my own as are the rest of the applied effects.

"The Little Match Girl" (DanishDen Lille Pige med Svovlstikkerne, meaning "The little girl with the matchsticks") is a short story by Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The story, about a dying child's dreams and hope, was first published in 1845.

Made in PS 2015.5
Original size 3543 x 2362px  (30x20cms)
Layers: 55

My manipulations are not public domain. They cannot be copied, altered or published without my knowledge. Sharing on social media is okay as long as it links back to this page. (so people can see who the artist and stock providers are)

I think this is the longest I have ever actually stared at a piece of art to try and see what someone was doing, The shadows from the lanterns are really well done! Do you have a link to the tutorial?  Thanks!  Fabulous work!
