Around 120 million years ago, central Australia had an inland sea, covering the Great Artesian Basin. Called the Eromanga Sea, fossils of pterosaurs and plesiosaurs have been found in current day Queensland.
Eyre was a plesiosaur who wandered into this shallow sea, and lost the cooler and deeper waters of her youth. Makoa transformed her, and kept her company in her new home. However after around 20 million years, continental plates shifted and the sea eventually drained. There was a freshwater lake for a time, but then central Australia became a desert in truth.
So Eyre has spent nearly 100 million years tied to a boundary that did not reflect her, barely able to manifest...
In her mind, she reminisces on those days when the water made her feel like she was flying, and she had friends to keep her company.
This has been in my wips for months, and i thought it was finally time i drew Eyre in her boundary! I love her, but she's stuck in a weird limbo, where she basically can't exist in the present day. Poor baby needs another transformation;;;
I've been busy with uni work, so if you want to see more of what ive been doing, or any non-esk art, go follow my instagram! I'm trying to remember to post there more
