There is some of the Germanic directness lingering and the clues are perfectly arranged to match it. The little key watch, the colour of bronze, the gentle green leaves arranged like wings, open book with a story already nearing its culminating point...

The technical side of the photo is quite good. The composition is lovely, the perspective excellent, the light is good and the contrast well made. The focus is also exquisitely placed upon the key on the chain and the leaves on the right side seem excellently sharp. I also like the fact the sharpness lingers in one side of the photo, whereas the other seems to be slightly blurred. Gives it a lovely touch.

There is only something missing... maybe the colours aren't intense enough? And maybe there needs to be something else somewhere in our line of sight. Maybe... maybe...

Hello.

Well Actually I like this picture pretty much.
I think that as someone already told you, colors are well balanced and the white point is really good.
For what concerns the "conceptual" part of the critique, I won't say much, as I can't speak German and I don't know if what is written on the book is related to the picture (and the key and the clock and the leaves...). But what stroke me about this picture, is actually your composition. I do think it's really interesting, since usually thinking "I'm not mainstream, I'll take the picture from a strange angle, adding lots of bokeh etc etc" it's getting these kind of pictures really..boring. In my humble opinion. But in your case, this "Academic" point of view, the position and direction of the lines, are chosen in a very balanced way. It's nice how the center of the book where the pages spread is creating this oblique line, perpendicular to the text lines, giving a big contrast to the smooth and organic curves of the subject.

So, as far as I can tell, good photography here.
Not my genre, maybe, bust still a joy for the eyes.

Best Regards

Pietro

I really like how you put the key in the book, but you could make the chain look as if it was bundled up like it was dropped or something. maybe you could put nail polish on the key or something not just plain and for me, It looks like it is not mysterious. make sparkles or something put glitter on it the leaves could be curled or something maybe you could make it so it looks like it was engraved on the book which is flying with wings?? I hope this really helped I look forward to seeing more art!!!

Hi !!!
I think we have two thing to say :
In first time, it's beatiful ! Colors are good, tuning correct, the fact to put your subject on a book is also a good idea !!!
Honestly, I really like this pict ! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/l/l…" width="19" height="19" alt=":la:" title="La la la la"/>
But I think also, it can be so much better !
Your pict was shot with a academic way : You are exactly above your subject, the background with the text is good, but with a little part of a table, or another support it could make a reminder beetween the colr (of the support) and the color of the leaf or the key for example. And so, the light are a little little bit too "flash", the reflects of the left of the key is a really little bit (I'll use and abuse this expression because it's really a little détail x) not limited with the white of the background.
So, I love to the suject : this key is incredible ! With the little clock, it can develop our imagination... What it can open ? A door which open on the past ? A secret passage ? A fairy shell... So it's infinity !
So I <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/p/p…" width="15" height="16" alt=":+fav:" title="+fav"/> now and watch the rest of your gallery ! You make a really good work ! Good luck ! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>

(So sorry if you cannot understand me, I'm not a good english speaker...)

Thank you very much for your critique, i really appreciate it :aww:

On the matter about showing a part of the table i disagree, in my opinion that would distract the viewers attention from the main subject. But i guess that is a matter of taste. :meow:
Oh and about the flash light. I didn't use a flash :D It was natural daylight, but i understand what you mean

Your pict is expressive, and negative points are invisible for most people and like that is beatiful :3
