Candy Capsule - A Fanart Guide by kaorishima Candy Capsule - A Fanart Guide by kaorishima
This was one of my final projects for my book arts class. And although it features copyrighted characters my teacher was impressed with it =D

The book is made out of cloth, fabric glue, string and puffy paint - fun stuff. The binding is a double pamphlet, and the edges are an adaptation of the japanese binding. The book has four big sheets of cloth. Each sheet is folded to make four pages, so its 16 pages in all. The tricky part is I have to design those four pages before I can fold it.

Basically with this book I poke a bit of fun at fanart and try to show different styles. The first style is silly and cute. The second is a boys love style to the extreme - seriously I studied some old covers to yaois in the 80s. Pointy chins and all. The second style I tried to do something boyish, and the last, becuase I ran out of ideas I just went with a manga style. In this case I was trying to capture the manga style of Akira.

The book is 10 x 12 inches

I'm guessing it's going to be all AKIRA fanart. I'm a little nervous ^^; But I really like your style, so it'll be fun :)
Sounds like you put a lot of thought and work into this. The class had better have liked it! ;P
