Dawn of a New Era by KanuTGL Dawn of a New Era by KanuTGL
Breaking the string of TLK uploads to fling more Messenger stuff at you ;)

I... really didn't know what to title this.

But indeed, aviation was a more or less brand new technology during The Great War and it was the first major conflict that utilised planes for both reconnaissance and for fighting. It really did change things in a very big way.

Tri has spotted a (poorly drawn) Sopwith Camel (my favourite~) here. This drawing started out as something very different, the sketch was from months ago, but I recently started to do a little bit of research on aviation during WWI and I've always loved fighter planes, so I couldn't help myself :XD: I think I had The Wind Rises in my head too xP
I've sacrificed my entire weekend on this instead of researching the Uni things I'm actually meant to be studying... why o why D:

I also tried a bunch of new technical things with this drawing and it was fun! Backgrounds remain the bane of my existence, but I try.

(By the way, in case anyone wonders, the Tumblr blog in the watermark isn't actually public yet, but I plan for it to be... eventually xP)

I didn´t know that you were interested on aviation, dear Kanu!! :D Not to say that you had a (WWI) warbird as favorite plane (at least from that period). Interesting. Very interesting :3 *joins in flying a S.E.5.a., my favorite* X)  ;)

Why, yes, I am! Just on an "Air planes are so cool."-level though, it's not like I know much about the science or the types and such... :XD: I'm using the Messenger project as an excuse to be a little more nerdy when it comes to WWI aviation though, and I'm liking it so far ;) The Sopwith Camel is one of my favourite planes, so it's been fun to learn more about it; like how it was freaking dangerous to fly and how you had to be a real badass to handle it properly xD Those pilots were awesome. Crazy, but awesome.

Oh, and the S.E.5 is a super cool aircraft too :D

You know of another girl (a TLKFAA ex-partner) who is also fond of planes, or used to be? ;) Does "Flying A.ce" (or just "Ace") ring a bell to you? :3 To Alan it surely does ^^ Although she´s fonder of more modern planes than WWI ones :) Do you know the P-51 Mustang WWII warbird and the F-22 Raptor modern jet? Those two seem to be her favorites... And, what´s more, her father is, as far as I can remember, an ex-combat pilot (who flew the tank-buster A-10 Warthog jet).

Well, I won´t strike you more with planes- for the moment. Ah- just one more thing: a small (tiny, rather ^^) scale model of mine ^^ 1:72 Sopwith Camel
