Kane Nash's Titan Devastator by KaneNash Kane Nash's Titan Devastator by KaneNash
I did this drawing like 5 years ago, on that time I didnt even have formal studies as a graphic designer, didnt know how to use photoshop, but I had a simple grey marker and a strong dessire to create vehicles, mechs, tanks, planes, driven by that dessire I designed, modified, and (perhaps) improved that what was my source of inspiration.

I sent my drawing at where my friend Lion published it in the fanart section, I still remember the praises, one of the comments talked about certain 40K franchise I didnt even know at that time (now I understand, when looking at the amount of weapons this titan has, what he was refering...)

Recently EALA published the design of the Titan MK3, which is cool, that gave me the idea to go and check again my own old titan design, I got it, edited some visual details on photoshop, and... well here it is the Titan Devastator pattern.

And as ever guys and gals your donations are very welcome:

Add the word "Custom" to the name of this mech and it would look a lot cooler :D

ive always wondered why they didnt bring the titan back to tiberium wars... twas a good mech and the juggernaut doesnt really do well in combat. also kinda amazing how something with that many guns can stay upright with only two legs 8D, sweet upgrades mate!

I believe the explanation for TW's lack of a Titan was that Nod troops where shooting the legs off of them. Juggernauts are, supposedly, far enough behind the lines that they're not really meant to take direct fire.

titans can stay back too... provide heavy fire while the troops move into position. and maybe engage any other vehicle that comes out to play

That may be so, but Titans, if I recall, were intended as direct fire support and/or Main Battle Tank replacements. A walker would never, realistically, be capable of filling in for an MBT, since immobilizing a tank doesn't cause it to topple over. It just spins idly in place, ending up a stationary turret.

While a Mech DOES provide an excellent artillery platform, being higher up than a tank (allowing it to hit more distant targets with semi-direct fire, and also fire over hills a tank would otherwise need to climb), they are also generally depicted as quite tall - any tall tank can easily take a HEAT or APDS DU round, and get a nice hole in the armor, so similar could happen with a Mech.

Though, I suppose the Mech could crouch behind a hill - but a tank can reach a similar (and slightly superior) effect by going 'hull-down' on a hill, often exposing little more than a cannon, part of the turret, and the front of the hull.

Either way, though, my preference is towards the Tank as the frontline combat vehicle, and Mechs as Artillery support. Which also confuses me as to why EA had GDI bring them back.
