Under-City

Under-City I've seen your cities under leaves,           boldly bust'ling brown and green.   Delicate highways -                 the most dangerous of all,           crossing light years over sidewalks                           where monsters stomp and crawl. I am the spy, invasive,           and I see you as I prowl.    I poke and prod your mystery,                  an alien, I'm misery                           until I leave your grounds.

Web Dew

Web Dew Foggy-wet morning,     Dewy,       Glistened Magic beading off each web. No hurries mentioned,           I wander eastern… Find myself upon cold sand, Greeting the lazy tide           At the hazy dawn. Watch a fat sun climb,       Heavy-bottomed,     Barely breaching the horizon. The sea’s so determined to hold its gold,    Make him swim,           Keep it swolled, But he heaved as it seethed,            Circumference unruly,      Beats of flicker-whip stitching him high. The battle was lost,      The colours bled off:           A white sun hung bright,           Small yet so blinding           On blurr

Descension Maybe someone should pray for me today -                    Gather up your blessed be’s, amen, excelsius dei …        For I might fall apart some sleepless night.                I can’t stop myself -                    Floating like a Calusari looking for my aubrey.                   Firewalker on a mission,                             Død Kalm –                                          Counting, “3, 2, 1…”                 Irresistible ascension                                                        To the sun,                                                         Any star

Pilot I found you in your corner                     On a cloudy eve of spring         Half forgotten, scorned, bemused -                    Determined not to be deceived. You started with your crazy,           Swinging in your chair;  I caught my thoughts, belated                          And wondered what I was doing there. Watch my hero campaign down the hall                  Roland in a suit and tie assumed as armor                                                             - Tall and strong;                  My pilot through the monsters,                                The lies,

Lava Lady to Wellington Witch She walks on stiff legs,          Stilted, tall - eight-inch heels    You can't help but watch          Wicked cool, wicked queer       And you ponder her name,       And you wonder her years. The Wellington Witch,             A whispered history,                     Before time began,          Involving children and houses,                 A California mansion                  With a mountain of wealth                  And a valley of tears All for you, Lava Lady, lovely             She had it all - she knew. I Didn't Make it to the Beach in Time

I Didn't Make it to the Beach in Time The morning awakens with fierce fuscia fingers,            Clawing with a hunger at the tail end of night –                      Blue mystique blushes and melts                                                                as the spectrum is savaged:                                             Bolts of bold color raking the canopy,                               Dripping in the brilliance of halos and innocence                               Refracting with resonance to purple and gold. Hunkered on haunches,     The world waits in silence as I watch in awe          Dazzled as the crown&rsquo

Mess You Up With Love

Mess You Up With Love They told me love was beautiful,            Some fresh angel                   With bright comforting wings    But oh she’s so savage                   The slattern, the whore              She’ll rape your logic                            Leave your defenses torn:                               Claw right through bone,                                              Through sternum –                                    Your heart is hers. Did you think I wouldn’t notice?                      The changes made…       A blush and a panic,               Inhaling feral flesh

Red Sky

Red Sky

Red Sky          There was trouble brewing in the air, Katie could feel it. The first thing she noticed when she woke up was the redness of the sky outside. Deep red, like blood. What a night it was going to be. It was ten o'clock, she had forty-five minutes until she had to face reality. That meant forty-five minutes of fantasy until then. The dog. Where was the dog? She looked around the bed, but he wasn't there. Where the Hell did he go? "Oliver. Oliver?" she whispered. There was a jingling of metal tags as the cat jumped onto the bed. "Oh, Merlin, not you! How is my sweet little kitty, hmm? Ol

Rock and Roll Queen

Rock and Roll Queen

Rock & Roll Queen Hey there, rock & roll queen! I have known you all my life; You've been immortal for me, Singing songs that set my soul at ease! (cue drums & guitar) Like a dark sorcerer drawn closer, closer to magic A little girl watches fairies fly - Singing, "I'll be just like you someday!" And she watches every move, studies every line, Dances in summer rains out in the cool moonshine - All for the rock & roll queen Oooooo...enchanted gypsy, won't you set me free? Please, and sing for me? (whooooah) I was born ten years too young, And by the time I'd come along the wicks were smold'ring on a darkened stage... But I learn

Willow, Willow, Willow...

Willow, Willow, Willow...

Desdemona's dove is singing, "Willow, Willow," In shades of green and purple Paint the world in abstract swirls Dance all cares away The sun is shining bright for you Sing, "Willow, Willow, Willow." Tip a nod to a Druid cove The trees are old With tales unknown Looking on high for Llew's soft road Passions seared in shades of gold Dance to your dreams, Sing for the stars - A canvas room and soggy rusks: The twilight's drawn for dawn and dusk. Stop and hear the dove, it's calling, "Willow, Willow." Lady, won't you come to play? The sky is dark for the night ahead Silver rays to lace the grass Sing, "Willow, Willow, Willow."

Jay's Song - temp title

Sing of wiles and things undone, For here now the ever-trav'lin comes. Walking paths through oldest trees, With words of praise- Paintings of dreams. All alone for sakes unknown, Resting nights in strangers' homes. What for the world is it you roam? ~Ella-ni, hanna-hi~ It shan't be told The winter's words take grasps of cold Beware wond'rer! Lest her teeth take hold... Bearing a cloak of whitest snow- Green life all knows, It's time to go. Dance for celebration's pure embrace, A lone traveler comes with eyebrows raised. Insight learned from wisest trees, In a mind that's young- Soul of a breeze. All alone for sakes unknow

She Tries

She Tries

She Tries People ramble, but she can't hear them When's the last time you forgave yourself? Sometimes they're helpful, And you can't stand it A habit of longing, desire for trust Where can she find it without caring enough? Without breaking down A smile? Sugarplum tries, but Sugarplum lies, and Sugarplum, oh I know she cries, Child, I've seen you cry before... It was beautiful, Watching those tears fall You were sweet again, You were so human When the redwood bends its soul to crawl, An anomaly So natural, Like a miracle, Just like a dream Bow down to the ground, Kowtow There you go shaking out your leaves, Always

Frankie and Larry

Frankie and Larry

Frankie & Larry I'll bring you down, down into darkness So black and haunting, like a cruel old crow. You say you need me and I'll believe it Whether it is, maybe, or isn't so. I seek the truth, You keep me honest, You pull me through. My soul, Just a broken, beat up raven's wing, Too old and worn to fold. The snow's too cold to mourn, So far and close - Hunting for demons, Fighting back ghosts. And maybe he just doesn't get - She'll stand by him, Even when she can not stand the journey. For he's persistant in his passions, A rapturous mind let loose again. I'll bring the light as we head down this tunnel, Find a way to

Grow to Know

"Grow to Know" I didn't want to fight with you,            No reason for the hating.     You were raging anger,                        Hiding your kindness.     I was so small and scared -                I got over it. And I'll forgive you if you let me,          I know both sides -

Alice's Dead Garden

Alice, before you sought that white rabbit again, Did you think to say goodnight? I was trying so hard just to get to know you, Now I'll never get it right! I remember it well, Only a half an hour past noon, Right after lunch back in my room. I didn't think you'd leave so soon Oh, now, you'll never grow old for me, No you'll never be old to me. Strawberries and chickens mark The borders of your garden's love. Look out for snakes as you go pickin' girl, And you better keep that there gate shut! It's never the same when you try it again, I used to never get enough... But the hen house is so empty now, Since then I've never touc

Puzzle Mix

Puzzle Mix You came with two cats, And your bird you call Tattoo; I brought my dog and two cats too. We're like some strange Brady Bunch tune... 'Cept our kids are furry and wonder around nude. Your psycho feline likes to beat up on the rest, Well, no, it's not okay, but hey, we do our best. Just one of life's many little tests. (But) They say that we can't be in love, You say that you've never known love And well, my dear, that's rather sad, But my heart feels you trying, so it's not too bad. We're pieces of two different puzzles, but we still fit. Two different puzzles, but we won't quit. Mine of the moon, your's of a star
