Fracture of Scala
Aqua, Terra, and Ventus gripped their keyblades until their knuckles blanched. The eyes of the statues glowed with malice.
“Aqua… Ven… leave these to me.” Terra stepped forward without looking back. “Aqua, find the missing keyblade wielder. Ven, take out that shadow that’s been stalking us.”
Aqua and Ventus exchanged a look- unspoken worry, unshaken trust- then nodded. They peeled off into the side hallways. Terra set his stance and faced the living stone figures.
“I think the shadow’s close, Aqua.” Ventus scanned the glitching corridor. The hall breathed. Walls bowed in and out by a hair, as if they city exhaled through hidden lungs. Colors bled across the masonry like wet paint refusing to dry.
They moved deeper.
