The last month has been an experience. Life gets in the way of lots of the things we want to do, but I started streaming and it has been fun and the momentum was getting pretty good, and I was preparing to start serious work on comics again after the break from Sako, but then I got the word that my biological mother died and it was a time to deal with family stuff. Now before you go saying "so sorry for your loss" and all those genuinely generous and kind sentiments, let me just make it clear I had no relationship with the woman. She abandoned the family many years ago, abused all her children, told me she "shouldn't have to raise a retard" regarding my younger autistic brother and fled to get away from being a responsible parent. She wasn't a good person, but no matter what the case may be your soul goes through an introspective period and you need time to process. She'll never have her redemption arc at this point, but I'm at peace to move on and get back to what I love most

Just a quick vent but this last week has been a lot of people across social media basically telling me that, as a classically trained artist who uses both paper or tablet to create illustrations, I just need to roll over and die and accept that our AI overlords are better "artists" than me, that I'm no different as an artist than the program creating "beautiful" works of "art". First thing's first.....AI illustrations, music, videos, etc....are not "art". Art is human created, not "generated". Art can be a lot of things, but it's not a genie in a bottle software program that creates something you tell it to be. Second, all those pictures and videos people drool over are taken from real human effort, they can't create anything without sampling human illustrations and art from the last many centuries or real work. Finally, it has no soul. I'm not the best artist in the world, but every pen stroke, every finger press into clay or stroke of a brush, that's art. That's a part of me and
