VR Trooper Ryan Steele

Last but not least, here we have the third and final trooper, Ryan Steele, aspiring master arts master on a quest to protect the earth alongside his friends against the evil forces of Grimlord, a villain responsible for his father's disappearance! Believe me, the missing father subplot was heavy stuff for a kids show back in the day, certainly darker than anything ya saw on Power Rangers at the time. 

Ryan's trooper form possesses a powerful lightning hand command, essentially a supercharged karate chop which he can use to cleave Grimlord's monsters in half!....I repeat, CLEAVE THE MONSTERS IN HALF! Damn, & parents complained about Lord Zedd being too scary for kids back in the day XD. He also had a spinning superheated kick attack as an alternative finisher as well, but lacked the long range weaponry of JB & Kaitlin, he was pure melee (until season two but that's another story lol). Ironically, even though the troopers were depicted as being a trio of heroes, they rarely fought the monsters together as a unit because the metal hero footage Saban adapted to create the show came from two completely different series, Metalder & Spielban, so whenever you see their armored forms together in VR Troopers its American footage. So basically while JB & Kaitlin would face one half of Grimlord's forces, Ryan would face another, something that sticks out obviously to an adult's eyes but doesn't really ruin the show if you ask me, & has the happy accident of making Grimlord look smarter by always dividing the heroes forces. 

The troopers sadly never had call signs in their trooper forms like the power rangers did unfortunately, supposedly because their armored uniforms didn't have a specific color like the rangers to go off of...To which I ask "Why not name them by number?DUH!" XD

Personally, if it had been up to me, I would have dubbed Ryan "VR Trooper 1," JB "VR Trooper 2," & Kaitlin "VR Trooper 3," nice & simple for the kids to remember but still sounds cool. Hell, they could have even used their original Japanese names, Metalder has a nice ring to it, I'm sure American kids could remember that if they can remember the names of Power Ranger monsters like Goldar or Ecliptor. 

Next up? With all three troopers present & accounted for, that leaves only the big bad himself, the Master of the Virtual World, GRIMLORD!!! ALL HAIL! >8D
