Drawing something rather different in style to my usual... I like to do curvy lines and shading, but this time the ruler is my guide. Took something that I had started and wasn't happy with: And decided I have nothing to lose by attempting to continue: I do most of it according to the existing lines—drawing them out further, placing new ones parallel to them, this is key to make the new and old fit together— because I can't mimic the style of something I did months ago, in a total different mind-set. So lately I've been rather unproductive with drawings... I was blocked. I think one of the reasons was my approach. I start something I like and then am too afraid to continue and ruin it, so as a result I have maybe seven unfinished drawings in my notebooks. I had forgotten that not every drawing has to be perfect and what looks like a really good piece to me now, could seem mediocre after a few months of improvement.
