A behind-the-scenes on handling order forms and sales with the APH calendar!
I get so many emails a day that I get scared to check my inbox (Himaruya! I can almost sympathize with you!)
, and so when answering them one by one usually your vision starts blurring and your brain goes on auto-pilot. However, once in a while, something catches my attention, and then I've truly realized the pleasure of working with people from so many different countries.
For instance, I am now convinced that Finnish & Swedish are the cutest people in the world. (BTW, the following are all figments of my and johwa's sleep-deprived imagination. This is what happens when you have to handle business, art, and communication all in one. XD)
I'm looking through the order forms and I notice a person from Finland has ordered 3 calendars.
"Whoa! How hardcore! XD Why would anyone need 3 calendars!?"
"Maybe they want to give one to Su-san"
"And one to Hana-tamago"
"FFFFF..dawwwww, how cute"
"LOLOMG, NO WAIT, I JUST REMEMBERED. IT WAS SWEDEN! SWEDEN BOUGHT 3 EARLIER, AND FINLAND BOUGHT 3 TOO!"
"They were going to surprise each other!"
"FAIL, WHAT UTTER FAIL COUPLE...!!!"
"but now they have so many extras..."
"Maybe they'll just give them all to Sealand"
"and he'll sell them on ebay"
Adn then later on that day, Finland sent in the payment for the calendars, but he didn't see the dollar sign or something, and sent it in EUROS!!! That's almost double the price!!! AAHHHH FINLAND, WHY SO INNOCENT! You can't survive in the real world with this sort of purity!!! Of course I immediately typer-spazzed and told Finland "Ah! You dork! You cute furbrain! You sent it in wrong!" But man, I feel like a jii-san scolding a little boy. XD
(btw, if you are Finland, I'm sorry about posting about you like this, but you are just waaay too adorable and make me go uwaaaaa~)
Another one that I remember today is a person who's last name was Vargas, but they were from Belgium! XD
"I-I'M A VIRGIN SO THERE'S NO FUN IN SHOOTING ME! I'M SO SORRY! I'M A GOOD ITALIAN! I HAVE RELATIVES IN BRUSSELS!"
[I have relatives in..] A phrase often used by Italians who think they are going to be killed in an attempt to have their lives spared.
SO WHAT IF YOU HAVE RELATIVES IN BRUSSELS?
BUT APPARENTLY HE DOES HAVE RELATIVES. HOW MIND BLOWING.
Also, apparently AUSTRIANS and RUSSIANS get special favors from me. =A=;;;; I can't help being human, and a fan with a delicate heart, but please don't abuse this. The envelope I received from Austria is now neatly framed on my desk. Wat a freak, lawl. (Oh, and if you say 'Kono Obakasan!' or 'kolkolkol', I will swoon. Hard.)
Well, it seems like all of this work is starting to screw with my head.
I will go back to slaving over my drawing... By the way,I might as well ask now while I'm at it:
Which style of mine would you enjoy seeing the most? Since I can draw any style with the same amount of ease (or difficulty), it really matters not to me, but I have the hardest time choosing each time on what style to use. I can do a perfect copy-Himaruya style so it'll look like funny official art (you guys haven't seen me try my hardest on that yet XD), or I can do realistic style like that Gokudera one
, or I can do clean crisp generic Japanese fanart style, or more painterly, or certain doujinka, or..or... it's frustrating!! Which kind?!?! I already have a topic in mind, I just can't decide which style...
