They have great signs in China. If I took a photo of every amusing one we've seen so far, I could probably wallpaper my room. XD -> pantwoblog.blog126.fc2.com/blo…
Also, IT'S INSANE HOW MUCH KITTY-CHAN THERE IS JUST RANDOMLY ALL OVER THE PLACE. I think I see Kitty-chan maybe 1-2 times a day, WITHOUT even going to a shopping center. -> pantwoblog.blog126.fc2.com/blo…
(also a few Sino-Soviet Friendship Mansion photos in that entry)
And so...I do believe...Ivan is invading my life...
For example, every time I go shopping, I think "Oh! I think Yao-kun would look very cute in this! Oh! This dress would show off Yao-kun's sexy legs very nicely! Mm, I think Yao-kun would enjoy eating this. Ah, I wish Yao-kun were with me right now" Which would be alright, except...the problem is....when I think that there is something Yao-kun would like or look good on him, I BUY IT. AND IT'S VERY TROUBLING BECAUSE RIGHT NOW I'M ONLY LEFT WITH 200 YUAN ($30 USD) TO SURVIVE OFF OF THE REMAINING 2 WEEKS.
The most recent purchase I bought was....was....I BOUGHT A QIPAO FOR YAO-KUN.
(sobs with face in hands) But it wasn't just any qipao, it was a PURE SILK one, that was CUSTOM-MADE to fit Yao-kun's proportions, and I made sure to tell the person to make the skirt short so it would show off Yao-kun's lovely legs. (sobnsobsobsobsob) Sort of like this
, but with gold trim & knots, skirt length above the knees, and a much much more beautiful model, because no one is more beautiful than dear litte Yao.
B-but....that's not all....
I BOUGHT TWO OF THEM. BOTH CUSTOM-MADE FOR YAO-KUN AND HIS PROPORTIONS. orz The second one was a boy's shirt style, silk too, but with girl's stitches along the waist, so it can show off Yao-kun's perfect trim waist. All together, the two of these cost me 1/3 of all the money I had brought...OTL
And then and then...I BOUGHT CUTE EMBROIDERED SHOES FOR YAO-KUN. (cries eyes out and hits random people with water pipe) I JUST CAN'T HELP IT. WHEN I IMAGINE HOW CUTE SOMETHING WOULD LOOK ON DEAR YAO-KUN, I JUST WANT TO BUY IT AND DRESS HIM UP.
And right now I'm looking for a pretty flower comb to stick in his hair...like Mulan (<- the only Chinese woman Braginski knows)
Capitalism is so corrupting...!
[But on a more serious note, I had these made to fit my China cosplayer. We're about the same height, so I had them measure me, and then take off a little measurement from the chest (although they probably didn't need to take off any to pass as a man @_@) and the waist because my China actually exercises, unlike me, so she's skinnier, hurr hurr.... the surprising thing though is that when I tried them on after it was done, THEY FIT. And it wasn't even tight either. :
But my adorable Xiao Yao, you will wear the dress I bought to AX right? Right? And we can tie your hair in pigtails~ With sunflowers. ^J^ Both outfits are in red cloth, and then I can wear the shirt, and we can be a matching red pair!! We can even wear it on July 4th to piss off that capitalist pig Alfred!! What do you say? Da? Da? 8DDDDDDDD]
New animals: pigeon, frog, goose liver,
donkey, lamb, fish head. I would've had snake too, but there were too many chili peppers in the dish and I don't like spicy stuff
New souvenirs: opium pipe, snuff bottle, 2 pretty fans for Yao-kun, more things I can't remember.
It's kinda funny, but on this trip I'm now known as Underground Dealer and Spy of the Orient. Because I'm always the ONLY ONE who gets stopped at the airports and has to have my luggage personally checked for explosives, and then I get sent to white rooms to get x-rayed or whatever, and I carry "background files on everyone on the trip" (it was actually just excel list of calendar orders, OTL), and I tried to break into the Russian Consulate, and I have mysterious packages in my bag that looks like narcotics, and I buy opium pipes. Bah.
vvv old vvv
Just came back from Hangzhou, back to Shanghai again for one night before we fly off to Xi'an (terra cotta warriors tomorrow!) The bus will leave at noon, so I will try to visit the Shanghai Exhibition Center in the morning! (pantwoblog.blog126.fc2.com/blo…
-> NO, I'M NOT VISITING THE SINO-SOVIET FRIENDSHIP MANSION JUST SO I CAN HAVE WEIRD IVAN/YAO FANTASIES, I'M NOT I'M NOT I'M NOT) Apparently the tip GLOWS RED at night...omg..you two adorable Commies...I'm going to have heart seizure...
Oh, but there is a Russian Orthodox Church (with onion dome thing!!) nearby (at least my guide book says so) so I'm so very very excited!!! It's the closest I will ever be able to get to dear Ivan... Nearby is also the French Concession, which "was mainly inhabited by Russians and Chinese" so I will be on the lookout for a 6' tall light-haired Russian walking around with a short Chinese man~
Meanwhile, I got Shel's artbook "Far Beyond the Sky
" from a bookstore for only 35 YUAN. YES, THAT'S RIGHT, $5 USD AND NO SHIPPING EITHER. And it was totally legit, all packaged nicely in plastic (haven't opened it yet) and so pretty... I also bought another most beautiful artbook ever (and came with free notebook) for only around $6-7USD. I think I bought a total of 5 artbooks and 1 old-school comic for less than 200 yuan..less than $30 USD. Oh god, Nini, your country is too wonderful... it is a paradise for us!!!
Oh yeah! I also bought a Saiunkoku Monogatari artbook (Japanese) which was a bit more expensive, but still ridiculously cheap (under $10 USD), and I also picked up a copy of "801 KANOJO" from a newspaper stand. LOLOLOL, I HAD TO MAN... ugg, I have to show you guys pictures!! The 801 Kanojo looked so illegal..I kept thinking "are they allowed to print copyright photos like that!! take candid photos of convention tables like that!?" It even came with UK and Japan paper craft doll thing. And a Prince of Tennis BL drama CD (oh noes, I smell Nini's bad habit appearing again.. |D ) But I recognized a lot of Chinese artists & doujin I admire from the convention photos, I wish I could've gone to a convention...
I've been looking so hard, everywhere, for an authentic Shinatty-chan but I haven't found one yet!! Maybe in Hong Kong..? ;A; They are getting pretty good with their copies, I've only seen retarded Mickey Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, teletubby, and Doraemon so far. All the Hello Kitty have no mouth.. T__T I bought a very angry-looking Panda though.
I'm sick right now though.. Maybe stomach flu? Mosquitos carrying mysterious disease? The street food I'm eating? I don't know... eating congee and hoping for magical Chinese dragons to cure my sickness because I can't afford a doctor now.
Ok, finally... something really strange happened to my Fc2 blog!! It isn't allowing comments to be posted because there are "too many English characters" in the comment field. You have to write some Chinese in the comment in order for it to post. I don't remember changing any settings in my control panel, but I can't check because now that I'm in Nini's house, all the computer settings & internet are in Chinese so I can't tell what is what (well I probably can, but it'd take me half a day..) Well, in case this has happened to anyone before, help would be really appreciated...
One last thing, the calendar month pictures submitted look amazing... *///A///* I wish I could redraw mine now T__T
