Alright, here it comes: the purge. There's been a remarkable amount of drama over the last few days about something that was never meant to be dramatic OR public, and while this post is heavily inspired by that drama, it is mostly in response to something I have seen written time and time again over the past few days in defence of some downright unacceptable shit. Often, it comes in various forms:  "It's already all been done before." "You can't reinvent the wheel." "Nothing is really original anymore." Specifically, we're talking about commercial art here.
