Thranduil’s crown done!

Assembled it with wire skeleton, covering it with DAS, colored it with bronze then soften with pearl-white colour and hardened it with the acrylic resin. The wig is still a work in progress while the coat is almost… finished!

The Hobbit official Twitter account has retweetted my cosplay!!!

Is there another way to harden the result without using acrylic resin?

What I don't quite understand is how you'd slip it onto your head whilst keeping it a tight, form-fitting shape, and not have the clay crack/break/get damaged in any way from the slight stretching? Or does it just... stay? Haha sorry I probably don't make sense! Regardless, this is absolutely fantastic, and definitely one of the best Thranduil crowns I've seen!

Hi, I love the crown. One question, what kind of wire did you use?

This is gorgeous! I've been wanting to make one for a while, so thanks for this tutorial. I have a question tho - do you do anything special to make sure it stays on your head? I'm having a hard time visualizing how it doesn't fall off.

Hello c: This is really fantastic! I am wondering though, does it stay on your head all by itself? Is it heavy?
