Two girls sharing a scarf on a cold snowy day, keeping warm and cozy.

I tried something wholly different from my usual, in terms of media, here. I got new paper, 300 lb. cold press watercolor paper, and did the sketch with pencil, and then "inked" over it with colored pencils, and then did the painting with watercolors. I used some white acrylic for some parts, and liquid frisket for the snow. I enjoyed the experimentation, and I'm pleased with the results.

The piece is done with colored pencils, watercolors and a touch of acrylic paint on 8"x10" watercolor paper. For the FC art show.

Very sweet, the two look great, with nice clothes and adorable scarf add to the cute faces. The traces of cold and warmth are nice touches, as is the details on the pair, such as the texture work on the fabric, the small gestures of the pair and the slight blush of the black furred girl. Great work Cozy, very nice, keep up the great work.

I like the composition and the warmth. The paper also gives the picture a "storybook" texture in my opinion. Very nice.

The cold press texture seems to often lend a feel of cozy warmness to a painting. Have you tried using water color pencil to "ink", and then partial "reink" after applying the water color for accents?
