As a six-years-later follow-up to my "going pro" post: being a pro photographer is rough. I shot a wedding, helped with some shoots for other photographers, got contracted for portrait and event shoots, and captured many portraits. It paid the bills, but barely – I got caught in the still-worsening "weekend warrior" epidemic, wherein everyone with a new camera thinks they can fit in with the other professionals.So, I found other ways to make money with photos (by combining photos with other technology), which turned back into making money with just my tech skills, which finally incorporated my management experience and landed me a nice job...
