Description

Żmij, one of the oldest dragons in existence, was a legendary figure in the city of Takhmanta and for many years the powerful head of the city’s parliament. As one of the most influential and wealthiest beings in the city, Żmij's legacy spanned centuries, tracing all the way back to the city's very founding. In the days of Takhmanta, the city's founder and queen—who gave her name to the metropolis—Żmij served as her primary general. His formidable strength and battle prowess made him one of the city's greatest weapons, defending its borders during the fragile early days when Takhmanta was still forming its identity and establishing its power.

Żmij was a born warrior, always prepared to crush enemies, both external and internal, with unmatched brutality. His unyielding decisiveness earned him renown, especially on the battlefield, but also in the parliamentary chambers where his forceful leadership often expedited decision-making. This ruthlessness was a key to the city’s development during its initial phase, as Żmij’s might was tempered by Takhmanta herself, whose strength and authority exceeded even his. Under her guidance, Żmij’s destructive impulses were kept in check, and the balance of his force helped drive the city forward.

However, after the death of Takhmanta, Żmij’s ambitions began to grow. No longer restrained by the powerful queen, he started claiming more authority over the military and the city’s security. He saw himself as the rightful heir to her legacy, the one who could keep the city safe through sheer force of will and violence. Yet, his brutal methods, once accepted as necessary during wartime, began to face resistance from other parliament members and the city’s elite. Żmij's way of suppressing rebellions or opposition—complete annihilation of entire groups, races, or neighborhoods—was increasingly seen as dangerous, a threat to the city itself rather than a protector.

As his unchecked cruelty grew, Żmij often delivered sentences and punishments based on his own opinions rather than concrete evidence or law. His reign of terror, while effective in silencing dissent, became intolerable for many within the city’s leadership. A coalition began to form within the parliament, made up of those who believed Żmij’s extreme measures were pushing Takhmanta toward ruin rather than prosperity. The coalition’s goal was clear: remove Żmij from his position as the head of the parliament before his actions caused irreparable damage.

When the coalition gathered enough support to bring the issue to a vote, Żmij reacted with pure fury. His deep-seated belief that he alone could defend the city made him perceive the vote as an act of treachery, a betrayal by those who should have supported him. When the vote to remove him passed, Żmij’s anger erupted into violence. He lashed out, igniting a battle within the city that became one of the most destructive conflicts in Takhmanta’s history.

In his rage, Żmij unleashed his fiery breath upon the old parliamentary building, reducing it to rubble and spreading chaos throughout the heart of the city. His destructive power consumed nearly half of the city center, killing countless civilians and obliterating any parliament members who dared to stand against him. The streets ran with fire and blood as Żmij, feeling cornered and betrayed, fought with all the fury of a creature who had been denied his rightful place.

The battle raged for hours, but Żmij’s sheer might made him nearly unstoppable. It seemed as though no one in the city could stand up to his wrath. That was until a young demoness named Ore, known for her exceptional combat skills, stepped forward. Ore had not been a particularly prominent figure in the city before this, but in the heat of the battle, she rose to the challenge. Armed with a unique blend of demonic power and strategic brilliance, Ore managed to confront Żmij head-on. The fight between them was fierce, but after an intense struggle, Ore delivered the final blow, killing the ancient dragon.

Żmij’s death marked the end of an era for Takhmanta. The city had lost one of its most powerful protectors, but it had also been freed from a tyrant who threatened to tear it apart from within. Ore, hailed as a hero, quickly gained widespread fame and recognition for her victory. Her reputation soared, and it wasn’t long before she was appointed as the city’s new Chief of Security—a role in which she would use her newfound influence to shape the future of Takhmanta.

Żmij's legacy, however, remains complicated. While he was once the city’s fiercest defender, his brutal methods and violent end serve as a reminder of the dangers of unchecked power. His name, once spoken with reverence, is now a symbol of both strength and destruction in the annals of Takhmanta's long history.
