The history of the city of Takhmanta begins with the tale of Paqadu, a brilliant and powerful mage who once served at the royal court of the kingdom of Sau. Known for his impeccable character, Paqadu was seen by those around him as a kind, compassionate figure, dedicated to the well-being of the citizens of Sau. He was a man of profound intellect and magical prowess, respected by both his peers and the common people for his wisdom and ability to solve the kingdom's problems through his deep understanding of magic.

However, beneath this virtuous exterior, a darker obsession grew. Paqadu’s thirst for knowledge began to turn toward forbidden magics, the kinds of sorcery that few dared to explore. He was not reckless; in fact, he treated black magic with great caution and respect, understanding its dangers and pitfalls. Yet over time, Paqadu no longer saw magic in terms of good or evil—he saw it as a neutral force, a tool to be wielded and mastered without the need for moral judgment. This change in perspective allowed him to delve deeper into the darkest corners of the magical arts, pursuing power and understanding at any cost.

As Sau became embroiled in an escalating series of wars, Paqadu’s ambition grew. He became obsessed with the idea of creating warriors so powerful that they could protect the kingdom and ensure its stability for generations. He envisioned an army that transcended the weaknesses of ordinary men, and in his obsession, Paqadu turned to demonic magic to realize his dream.

He began conducting experiments, using human embryos as the base for his creations. Inside a magic-infused incubator, Paqadu infused these embryos with demonic blood and bound them with ancient artifacts, using spells to force them into forms of twisted strength and unnatural resilience. But his early experiments failed miserably. The human body was too fragile to handle the immense power of dark magic. One after another, the bodies collapsed under the strain of the energy forced into them.

Undeterred, Paqadu pressed forward, deepening his research into demons and the limitations of human flesh. In his studies, he made a breakthrough: demonic embryos could serve as a more stable foundation for his experiments. Acquiring demonic embryos was no easy task, but Paqadu’s determination was boundless. He began using demonic spawn as the basis for his creations, nurturing them within his incubator, feeding them with fairy magic, elven enchantments, and even magic rooted in love and joy—powers that demons typically lacked.

The results were impressive but imperfect. These new creatures were immensely powerful but lacked the soul necessary to truly harness the magic of light and good. They were vessels of raw power, but they lacked control, their existence incomplete. It was around this time that tragedy struck Paqadu’s personal life. He and his wife had recently lost their only child, and the grief weighed heavily on them both. His wife, seeking to fill the void left by their loss, wished to conceive again, hoping that another child would heal their shattered hearts.

Paqadu, however, was consumed by his experiments. In his grief and obsession, he hatched a dark and twisted plan. Under the guise of casting protective spells over his pregnant wife, Paqadu began to tamper with the very soul of their unborn daughter. He secretly infused the forming life with demonic essence, binding it to the dark forces he had worked so hard to master. He sought to create something new: a being that was both demon and human, but also more than either. This being would possess a soul, something no demon had ever been gifted, and would be the ultimate expression of his work—a creature of unimaginable power.

As his wife carried the child, she was unaware of the monstrous forces that were taking shape within her. She believed the pregnancy to be a source of joy and healing, cherishing the life growing inside her. Paqadu, meanwhile, continued his rituals, infusing the unborn child with every conceivable form of magic, hoping to make this hybrid the most powerful being the world had ever seen. But as the pregnancy progressed, his wife’s body began to falter under the strain of carrying such a twisted creation.

She died during childbirth, leaving behind a creature that defied all understanding—a being of both pure malice and pure innocence. Paqadu’s creation, his daughter, was named Takhmanta, and she was unlike anything the world had ever seen. Born of both light and dark, Takhmanta possessed a soul but was infused with demonic energy, making her the most powerful being Paqadu had ever encountered.

Paqadu retreated from public life, hiding away in his estate, claiming grief over his wife’s death to mask the truth of his monstrous creation. For two years, he raised Takhmanta in secret, training her, testing her powers, and nurturing the obsession he had with his daughter’s limitless potential. However, the truth of Takhmanta’s origins could not stay hidden forever. Rumors began to spread through the kingdom, and eventually, the king and the people of Sau learned of Paqadu’s dark experiments and the terrifying child he had created.

A confrontation was inevitable. The forces of the kingdom came to destroy Paqadu and his monstrous daughter, but Takhmanta’s power was far beyond anything they could have imagined. In the ensuing battle, she unleashed a devastating force, reducing half the capital to rubble and driving the kingdom’s armies to retreat. With the kingdom in ruins, Paqadu and Takhmanta fled deep into the wilds, far beyond the reach of the kingdom.

They found refuge in a dark, ancient forest, a place teeming with monsters and outcasts. There, Paqadu began to build a new home, and Takhmanta, now fully embracing her power, attracted creatures of all kinds. Monsters, witches, criminals, and exiles gathered around her, seeking protection in her growing power. As her strength grew, so too did her following. What began as a small settlement of outcasts soon blossomed into a full-fledged city—the city of Takhmanta, named in her honor.

Takhmanta’s power continued to grow, and she became the undisputed ruler of this dark realm. She constructed walls around her city, built castles and palaces, and established a society where humans, demons, and monsters coexisted under her rule. For centuries, she governed the city, shaping its traditions, laws, and culture. Her reign was marked by strength and power, but also by the inevitable decay of her unnatural soul. Over time, her soul, which had been forcibly bound to her demonic body, began to degrade. Eventually, it unraveled entirely, leaving her body empty and soulless. A few years later, her physical form, too, disintegrated.

Yet, the city of Takhmanta remained, a testament to her power and the dark legacy of her creation. It stood as a sanctuary for all those who had no place in the outside world—a city born of obsession, grief, and power, where the lines between human and monster, good and evil, were forever blurred.
