she looks cool, I really like her hairstyle.
As you know I think about cute vampire girls a lot, and although I love bloodlines a whole bunch (my favorite), I can't help but think that the skin is too grey. So when I draw vampires my way I still add some hints of blood,  like on the cheekbones and nose, because I think that if vampires feed on blood, they must have some blood running through their system.
One of my favorite movies is Interview with the vampire and they look like this…
I would love to know your thought process on this.

I think you are doing great, learning to draw. drawing on a grey background was a huge help for me, specially with color. color is my favorite, and it stands out the most on a grey background.
For me personally I would say don't blend to much. My hero Henri Matisse just used beautiful color…
but that is just me personally, you can do what ever you want you know.

I see what you mean by very grey(I knew it was grey but i couldn't figure out how to fix the problemWaaaah! ), Looking at the Brad Pitt reference and already I see where I went wrong. I'm gonna make use of this reference and maybe try again with another model, less blending too as I see my vampire looks a bit puffy.( I would have taken the work down but the whole point of me joining deviant was to show a process, im glad i kept it up, your advice is so helpful)

Looking at your work and Henri Matisse I can see the influence, I'm definitely gonna try and blend in less, If its alright I may look at some of your work for inspiration and reference. Thank you for all the advice, I truly appreciate it :D (Big Grin)

Sure you can look at my work, I'd be flattered  :)

My theory with skin is you basically only need two colors. One the skin tone that you want and then the shading. I don't add highlights anymore unless I want something to look shinny or wet. so I don't mix in white to lighten the skin tone.
In this one you can see my theory in its simplest form Lyria Chanel #3 Cosplay by Sei-ey
I just used the skin tone color, added some shading, mostly to imply dept. And then I added a hint of red on the cheekbones, neck, elbows and hands, I would have added to the the ears too.
Look at yourself in a mirror and notice the redder areas. I also kept all the colors unmixed.
I have pushed it to the max realism am willing to go Valkyries Don't Surrender by Sei-ey but I find it very boring. The smooth shading just makes my eyes glide over the whole thing smoothly, while not blended all the way, colors create excitement as my eye moves through them.
Because I know they were applied fast and  I know that smoothing takes longer, so not mixing its faster, quicker, lighting, speed, turbo. It doesn't mean it lacks knowledge its just faster Like a fighting Gangrel, hahaha But that's just me, other people with a different disposition like other things, like how watercolor "flows", or everything is more subdued. I like things a little crazy ;)

and yeah keep posting on DA, its true that a lot of us get ignored most of the time, but I hope that doesn't distract you, the important thing is to draw cause we like it.
Right now am learning RPG maker, to make a game about vampires xD. So in the future when I figure it out and you learn more about drawing maybe we can collaborate on stuff.

I love the crazy Love.

Two colors, i have never actually tried that so im gonna give it a shot.

I would love to do a collaboration with you one day :happybounce:  but first i must get the human body right so that i can just draw it from right out of my head. RPG about vamps is an RPG that must be played, and played often i wish you luck in the process of making it, games are very hard to make and so i hope you are having fun making it.:) (Smile)
