GENERAL
Full Name: Seelie Hollow
Nicknames: The Cryptid Keeper, The Shepherd of Shadows
Appearance: Seelie is a lean, well-groomed folk of good breeding & blood. They move with grace, authority, & perfect posture & know how to maintain that emotionless mask & never look someone in the eyes. But despite this posh upbringing, Seelie’s frame is wiry, slowly solidifying into proper muscle, & their paws are calloused from string-plucking.
Accessories: They usually wear loose, flowing clothing made of soft, comfortable fabrics (though they never wear anything over their paws). Seelie always keeps bells on them, usually tied up in their hair or on bracelets around their wrist or ankles.
Height: 6’1” (Bipedal)
Current Age: Early Young Adulthood (21-25)
Species: “Witch” Folk (Warlock - Whisper of Shadows)

Current Residence: Deadman’s Cove - Volunteer’s Camp
Past Residence: The Den - The Cryptid Village.
Level of Education: Secondary Education, specializing in Old World Mythos.
Languages Spoken: Common, CSL, Gaelic (Can technically speak every language) - Prefers using CSL.
PERSONALITY
Seelie is a respectful & kind folk, always prim & proper, with a kind word for nearly everyone. They treat everyone they meet with respect– though, whether that’s genuine or just passive-aggressive politeness depends. While they rarely outwardly disrespect people, that doesn’t mean they’ll take things lying down.
They’re quick with their wits & words & even quicker with Puck or Titania– a crowbar & gravekeeper oar, respectively. Seelie’s quite the adept fighter & is well aware of that, having tested their wits on the year 502 Wyld Hunt & the onslaught at Deadman’s Cove. Generally, they play tactician, as their physical disability & blight make prolonged fights unadvisable.
Generally, Seelie has the issue of putting others before themself & tends to push themself to their limit if left unattended. They’ll try to do everything by themself rather than asking for help. Thankfully, since their blight infection, they’ve been forced to acknowledge their limits more, thanks to their friends & medics forcing them to take breaks.
HISTORY
Seelie hatched in their parent’s house with their clutch mate, Qil. However, Seelie hatched with open eyes & bright colours, gnawing at their parents' hands when they tried dropping them in the pouch. A competent caretaker may have looked at the Hollows’ druid lineage & dealt with it accordingly. Unfortunately, the Hollows weren’t competent caretakers.
Seelie was raised away from most other kits. Their parents were researchers into old world legends & brought their kids up on tales of the Fair Folk. Little Seelie took these lessons to heart, & they continue to guide them to this day. Unfortunately, as a physically disabled autistic kit, they fit the image of a changeling. As Seelie’s symptoms became more prominent, their parents pulled back before eventually turning Seelie & their clutch mate over to the Den– at nearly 15 years old.
Despite the Den Mothers’ best efforts, the Den wasn’t the greatest for Seelie. Seelie found themself cut off because of their strange habits & beliefs, even occasionally the Den Mothers themselves.
The Dreamsurge certainly didn’t help things.
Already sensitive to the ether around them, the Dreamsurge hit Seelie hard– & stuck them in a deep dream even after the Black Swan rejected them. This prolonged exposure left them with synesthesia. Seelie could already hear ether as a background hum, but after this, they began to hear it as music instead– even the ether in folk’s veins. While this allowed them to understand the world better, it didn’t help their isolation. Though– Seelie didn’t help themself there either. They assisted Tattle Tale in remaking their map, hoping to get the ‘rule breakers & trouble makers’ out of the Den & let them run their energy out.
They weren’t expecting most of them to never return.
After this, Seelie changed how they interacted with others. They didn’t want anyone else to run away from the Den– from safety. What started as they turned their room into a quiet room expanded into a whole Den floor dedicated to special care. Seelie took this responsibility extremely seriously, & considered themself a secondary caretaker of the Den. By the time they grew up, Seelie had a deep commitment to helping the folk around them.
It was natural that they’d go on a Wyld Hunt to help a sister tree. Barely into their 20s, Seelie led the Ghostlights to Deadman’s Cove. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well, mainly due to eldritch meddling. This left half the Ghostlights as new Warlocks, attempting to navigate this far from the Grove’s protections. Seelie, having dealt with lost autistic kids for years now, folded warlocks into the same protection umbrella.
Currently, they’re working around the Cove, trying to deal with a newly gained blight while trying to help their fellow warlocks. They’re not planning on leaving until either Deadman’s Cove doesn’t need their help anymore or they’re forced back to the Grove.
EXTRAS
Seelie is a Warlock of Whisper of Shadows, & some of their Warlock abilities reflect that. Like all Warlocks, they have the gift of tongues, & can understand any & all languages. However, they can’t automatically understand these languages, & they must encounter each word on its own before using them (spoken, either signed or verbally, & written are counted separately). They can freely use Common & Gaelic as they learned them before becoming a Warlock.
Seelie’s physically disabled, having something similar to a human’s POTS (they don’t have an exact one-to-one for any medical condition, given folk have completely different biology). Their heart never fully atrophied, causing imbalances in their ether flow whenever it beats. Given their parents' A+ parenting, they’ve never been diagnosed or treated. This has been both helped & exacerbated by becoming a Warlock. The extra ether means Seelie can push themself further, but they’ll fall farther once they expend themself.
They have two ‘pets’: Grim & Yip, though they’re both more animals that hang around Seelie than pets. Seelie roughly tolerates them, too soft-hearted to properly kick them out, & they tend to wander back if they try & give them away.
Trivia:
Seelie Hollow is the first recorded folk in Grimsby Grove with Moonlight Sonata Ears– ears that were at first mistaken for Star’s Reach Ears before Seelie’s post-ether storm evaluation revealed that, similar to Clouded Ears, Moonlight Sonata Ears bear shocking similarities to specific ether mutations but have no relation. (OOC, Seelie’s original Star’s Reach Ears were considered too stylized to pass mod check but cool enough to become a new upgrade! I’m constantly smiling about this.)
They’re highly entemophobic, terrified of creatures that resemble insects. This includes things with segmented bodies or limbs & that either scuttle or buzz or fly straight at their face (this generally includes antmadillos, dottiebops & nottiedots, dynabyx, ether beetles, kibbees, mobbits, & freshly sheared woolies). Seelie’s entemophobia stems from growing up on tales of fairies or other dangerous bug-like creatures. It occasionally flares up around particularly bug-like folk, where Seelie may startle or scream but will very quickly apologize.
Beyond being entemophobic, Seelie’s not the greatest fan of goobers, but that’s more for their texture than any fear of them. They don't mind nudibarks, however, & can tolerate the texture as long as they don’t touch the gills.
