Clear-Minded, Blood-Sighted ~ 2023 Artfight PPAU

   Olive, the circlet is mega cursed– it’s eating away at your free will. Olive– oh, gods, she’s got her airpods in; she can’t hear us. (No, I didn’t make the same joke two posts ago, don’t check.)

   But here’s a quick revenge on Torna, who drew an incredible scene with our favourite sapphics, Stove. Given the limited timeframe, I can’t pay them back with another full scene, but I wanted to give them something that I’d still put effort into. So, we’re back at it again with dynamic experimental lighting! 

   Olive is an– let’s say, interesting character. ‘Desperate to reach out and defy expectations while still falling back in on what people expect her to be, and cutting off and turning away those who care about her. She’s a walking contradiction, both inward and outward, especially with a certain headwear of hers. 

   Let me introduce you to the Circlet of Bright Paths, a moonstone headpiece that’s said to help Nightwing prophets with controlling and understanding their visions. Olive bought it, hoping to regulate her Blood Moon Prophecy powers– where she can only see the darkest futures possible. 

   But instead of helping, Olive doesn’t have a single vision when she wears the circlet. Odd. 

   She doesn’t know that this is the better path of using the circlet, which is secretly one of the earrings that Darkstalker cursed to give Clearsight only bright futures. And the longer you wear it, the harder it is to convince yourself to take it off. 

   So, here’s the question the circlet poses: is it better to see nothing or to see everything?
