Pain Inside

The artist has displayed the emotion very well in this drawing. Creating harsh lines in the centre of the drawing, then blurring it out towards the edges of the paper. This is a very good technique because it literally describes the fundamental mood he creates, pain INSIDE.

The artist has very cleverly shown how the facial features wrinkle up and crease, especially around the frown lines, this shows he is very observant when looking at the human features. For example he has used neither tears nor the opened eyes are used in this drawing. I like how he has drawn an open mouth so as to hear the screams of the character, the way her hands are placed also suggest discomfort, sort of like a helpless protection against the pain.

Tonal values are again very appropriately done and are very correspondent to the whole mood/gist of the overall picture. Well done!
