I am tired. I walked through the whole night and hadn't had more rest the last days either. The way is much longer than I expected. The Event at this stable should start today and I still have about 25 km to go. My feet ache and my throat burns. The thirst is painfully present and my stomach is nearly screaming for food. But I carry on. It feels like a trance, my legs walk as if they have their own will.
Just one foot in front of the other.
Step by step.
I can already see the sea.
Feel the salty wind on my skin and hear the seagulls.
It's not far anymore now.
Some signs show me the way to Misty Hill Stables. There are lots of trailers and people bustling around on the courtyard, horses are neighing and about hundreds of voices try to predominate each other.
It is too loud and too busy. I leave the courtyard and head towards the beach. It's a little bit quiter here. The rushing of the waves is relaxing.
I gaze around. The grass is swaying gently in the wind and some people are walking towards the beach as well. They are leading horses to a shadow-y place with a large water trough and tie them up there. I watch a guy with black hair who grooms a tall beige horse. He is familiar. I feel a slight nervousness growing in my stomach and suddenly my hands feel cold and clammy. My heart pounds in my throat and somehow I seem to loose all my courage. I stumble a few steps towards him and stop again. The guy puts a saddle on the horse's back and I can see his face for the first time. This makes me completely sure.
I've found him.
I found Yan.
Drawing a deep breath I continue.
