An Ode to Rain
I love the Rain. Most people wouldn't agree.
I love the soothing sound and the smell of petrichor. I love watching the droplets fall onto a window and following them as they creep down the glass. Becoming bigger and bigger and bigger until they race all the way down, the trail they leave behind slowing filling with new drops. I love watching the rain fall and how it makes the environment dance. Each droplet interrupting a blade of grass or the leaves of a tree. I love the way rain feels on my skin, cold and refreshing; reminding me that I'm alive.
I love how watching the rain wakes me up to the world around me and makes time stop. I love how the rain makes the world feel so small and intimate; Constrained by the clouds and the rain, like fluid permeable walls. These dancing walls enclose you under the space of a shelter or umbrella, making you feel alone with the rain. I love how the rain is so unpredictable, drizzling and then pouring.
