Chapter 8: The Soda Poppers' Last Stand

The heroes look around the roof carefully as Danny said, "There should be some goons or something evil up here on guard, I bet."
June turns and saw something that made her groan, "Or something annoying and pestering. Look!"
Everyone turn and saw what June just saw. T.K. slaps himself on the forehead while saying, "Well well, if it isn't the three little soda jerks and pranksters...again."
"Nice to see some people wanted to keep bothering us." Beast Boy said sarcastically and annoyed.
"Let us guess: you three goons are still working for the Joker?" Cyborg asked the three brats with a frown. Sure enough, we see the Soda Poppers on the center of the rooftop in their bathtub. The evil grins on their faces prove that they are up to no good as usual.
"Who said we're working? We're playing!" laughed Peepers at the heroes.
"And winning!" said Specs with a nod.
"Anyone wanted another round?" asked Whizzer stupidly and hopefully.
"Too bad you don't have a choice!" The Soda Poppers sneered at once. It is very obvious at this point that they're looking for another battle with T.K. and his friends and this time, they are combining forces!
"Oh bother, like fighting together would help them." June said dryly.
"You little brats are going to learn that all games, no matter how fun they are to you, must come to an end especially this one." T.K. snapped at the Soda Poppers. He turn to cover his face for the moment then turn to show his scary face roaring, "HAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
The others jump up a bit in alarm. Of course, the Soda Poppers doesn't seem scare at all, rather they want to mess with the heroes.
"Over here!" mocked Peepers slapping his butt as if to taunt the heroes.
"This way, this way!" laughed Specs as he gets the bathtub ready for battle.
"Ha!" laughed Whizzer stupidly and agreement.
"You know, these brats are getting on my nerves. I say we beat them senseless and hard." said Raven as she powers herself up to get ready to fight the Soda Poppers.
Patamon digivolved to Angemon as the heroes prepare to fight. Soon it begins as the Soda Poppers' bathtub runs around with the riders throwing out traps at the heroes. T.K. dodged as he hits the bathtub with his Soul Robber while June kicked at the enemies themselves. The Soda Poppers then begins to sing.

Soda Poppers: Laa, la, la, la, la, laa!
La, la, la, la, laa!
Laa, la, la, la, la, laa!
La, la, la, la, laa!

Hail to Mister Joker!
T.K. will never win!
When you find our booby traps
They will do you in!

Specs: First we brought the Master back, okay
To take this town away from T.K.!
We knew he would fight to set things right
So we got bad guys who attack!

T.K.: Stop! We've had enough of you!
Your punishment is overdue!

Robin: You've instigated chaos here
And turned this town onto its ear!

Soda Poppers: Hail to Mister Joker!
Put T.K. to the test!
Keep him guessing all the time
Never let him rest!

Whizzer: Then Mister Joker Man

Specs: Can take the whole town over then!

Peepers: He'll be so pleased, I do declare!

Soda Poppers: The whole world should beware!
Wheee!

"You're going down this time!" laughed Specs as he throws a trap at the heroes only for T.K. to grab it and throw it back at the bathtub injuring it some more.
"Forget it, we won't let you!" Starfire declared as her hands glow while she punched the Soda Poppers' bathtub many times. That is enough as the bathtub to break down, forcing the twerps to get out and changed into their demon forms as they kept on the attack against their enemies.
The heroes gathered around notes during the fight resulting in another dance off to occur.

Peepers: Now that the Joker is the king
We get away with everything!
You cannot scold us for our pranks!
The new King Joker, let's give thanks!

June: Don't be foolish! Think now
All this danger isn't fun and games!

Danny: When this town is back to normal
Do you really want the blame?

Soda Poppers: Hail to Mister Joker!
This is so much fun!
We make mischief day and night
Our work is never done!

Starfire: We told you once, we told you twice
To straighten out your act!

Cyborg: You'll never get away with this
And that, you brats, is fact!

Beast Boy: We had enough of this disgrace!
So take us to the hidden place!

Raven: Where our friends sit locked in a cage!
Or you will face our rage!

The notes were sent at the Soda Poppers making them laugh stupidly as they got back up. Returning to their feet, they resumed the attack using what they can to stop T.K. and his friends.
"No way you will win this time, folks!" Peepers remark as he fires lasers at Raven who dodged them and blast the idiot back.
"You jerks are in big trouble." snapped T.K. as he whipped Whizzer hard with his Soul Popper sending him flying back a bit.
"Don't I know it!" snapped Beast Boy as he turns into a kangaroo and hit Specs many times with his boxing gloves. Once the notes are gathered up again, the song continued.

Soda Poppers: Laa, la, la, la, la, laa!
La, la, la, la, laa!
Laa, la, la, la, la, laa!
La, la, la, la, laa!

Hail to Mister Joker!
T.K. will never win!

"No way he will be defeated!" remarked Peepers as he yelp when Danny uses his ghostly howl to knock him, Specs and Whizzer back like crazy.
"That is what we'd decided." snapped Robin as he get his staff out and swings around like mad hitting the ones who brought the Joker back to life. You can tell that the sidekick of Batman is really upset at this point.
"Right, I agreed." Danny said with a note. Notes are gathering as another dance off begin.

Peepers: Now that the Joker is the king
We get away with everything!

T.K. & Robin: Trusting him's a big mistake!
One that you don't want to make!
He might reward you, this is true!
By cooking you into a stew!

Soon the notes hit the trio sending them flying like mad before they hit the ground hard, ending the battle. The Soda Poppers end up seeing stars big time.
Soon a dark portal appears making another door knock out. It is a one that is shaped like a fire cracker. Must be the Independence Day door. Patamon took the door as T.K. glared at the kids angrily.
"Well, time you three get your lesson for good." snapped T.K. as he step towards the Soda Poppers becoming more demonic with each step. These brats have brought back the Joker that end up turning the town upside down and threaten to take over all the holidays including Christmas. Worst yet, the Soda Poppers refuse to listen to the heroes when the latter told them to stop working for the villain. Time for them to be taught a lesson, one they will never forget!
The Soda Poppers whimper and back away as Danny said, "Wow, T.K. must be the one you don't want to get on the bad side of."
"Don't I know it." said Patamon after he is restored back to his Rookie form and smirk. He can't wait to see this.
"Alright, who wants their punishment first?" T.K. demanded getting ready to punish the Soda Poppers. Suddenly the Soda Poppers stop being so frightened. Something is wrong, why are they stop being scared of T.K. all of the sudden?
"Hey, wait, it's..." June said in realization.
"Oh T.K....TRICK OR TREAT!" laughed the Soda Poppers evilly.
"What?!" yelled the heroes in alarm. Before they knew it, the little jerk run to a button nearby and press on it. Okay, Whizzer has to stop before his 'urge' return while his colleagues just press it. What do you expect from someone like Whizzer?
A hole appeared under the heroes as they fell right in screaming. After they disappear, the hole closed where T.K. and his friends used to be at.
"Well, what do you know? They really FELL for that one!" laughed the Soda Poppers evilly. Sure, it was a bad joke but to them, it was funny.

The heroes continue falling into the darkness in the hole as if forever. Luckily T.K. saw a rock nearby and grab some of those who can't fly.
"Hang on and for those who can fly, better do so! Soul Robber!" yelled T.K. as he used his Soul Robber to grab the rock he just saw. Starfire, Raven, Danny and June recover long enough for them to fly while Beast Boy turns into a pterodactyl and flew just in time.
"Phew, that was close." T.K. said as Robin, Cyborg and Patamon held onto him while the others who fly around him. The ones who can't fly hang from the Soul Robber and holding on tight.
"I know, man, those little guys are getting their butts whipped by me if I see them again." Beast Boy remarked in annoyance. He can't believe that the Soda Poppers tricked them like that! Okay, they would believe but still...
"So where are we?" Danny asked as the heroes found a place for them to land gently. What is this part of Halloween Town that they almost crash landed into? Something big, they bet.
To investigate, heroes look around as they enter a cavern. The place they just enter is filled with lava and traps.
"Oh great, more of Joker's traps." said T.K. with a frown while looking around the place. "We best not to fall into the place."
"Yeah, I know it." Patamon said in agreement. One false move in this place and they're sliced, diced, or fried heroes!
The group go through the place dodging the torture devices and fighting off the bad guys doing so. One time, Danny trip and nearly fell into the lava but June grabs him and pulling him up in time. The couple smiled at each other warmly as they move on.
Just then a scream and some familiar feedback started with the Joker starting another of his annoying announcements, "HA HA HA HA HA! Looks like we're going to have some torn heroes, ashes to ashes and dust to dust! What gave you the idea you would get out of here alive? Now this is entertaining, watching you run from my traps down there from in here! HA HA HA HA! Well, I will see you all soon. Ciao!"
The feedback ended as the heroes look concern. They are getting closer in running into the Joker and fighting the villain who must fall if all is to be restored back to normal and for the holidays to be saved. They made their way through the caverns quickly.
In another room, the heroes got a shocking sight as they see figures in seven cages nearby. Danny look them over while saying, "The Holiday Leaders, the ones that the Vampire Trio told us about! Looks like the Joker did capture them!"
"Of course, look at this cage." T.K. said noting a cage nearby, "It is part of a well in the town square so this must be where the place leads to. Wait a moment, one Holiday Leader is missing! Where did Joker put Sora?"
"Hey, yeah. Where did that clown put my dad?! If that Joker lay on hand on him, I'd skin him alive!"
The heroes spot a door nearby which Starfire just open. There's a passageway inside, that must either lead to the way out of here or to the Joker. Either way, the villain will answer to his crimes, present and future one.
"Come, we gotta find Sandy Claws and put a stop to Joker's terror once and for all." Robin said in determination as the heroes move on down the passageway.
Danny and June frowns as the boy halfa said, "His name is Santa Claus...or Sora!"
"What do you expect from people in Halloween Town or just kids?" asked June with a shrug.

Author's note
In the next chapter, T.K., Danny, June and their friends confronted the Joker for real...or is it? And when one of the heroes get kidnapped, the heroes are more determined to put a stop to the villains' plan to be the Seven Holidays King. Can they do it? Read, review and suggest!
