Divergence IV - " A New Hope "
by jurialmunkey

Requires Murrine Engine > 0.98

I have removed the installer because too many people complained about it. Here are install instructions:

Extract the .zip to a folder
Open Appearance Preferences
Click "Install..."
Locate the folder you extracted the .zip to and select "A-New-Hope.tar.gz"

Open Nautilus
Press Ctrl+H to show hidden folders
Open ".themes"
Open "A-New-Hope"
Double Click

To get transparency, you will need to install Compiz and Emerald. There are emerald themes included within the .zip file.
To make emerald stay default, go into CompizConfig Settings Manager > Window Decoration > and in the box next to "Command" enter: emerald --replace
Then hit ALT + F2 to get a run dialog and enter: emerald --replace

The AWN style used is called Lucido. There are themes in the .zip

- Metacity can only be used with left sided buttons. (A right side version will come soon)
- Toolbar colours which are not dark make the breadcrumbs look ugly.
- Metacity only follows colour changes correctly with the A New Hope gtk (this is due to minor hack that had to be implemented in order for the colour changes to work. There is also a fixed colour version of the metacity which matches with Ambiance)
- Window title text sizes over 15pnt cause issues
- TESB colour changes do not change the colours of the rounded corners of the sidebar (this is due to pixmaps being used and unfortunately cannot be fixed)

I still miss emerald.

I've spend almost whole yesterday looking for some new, fresh feel for my desktop. I've installed some themes, tested... I've believed that that after so many years sitting on one theme, it's enough. Today, my desktop is still A New Hope. I am using Your theme for as long as it was put on gnome-look. I am afraid that never will be done something equally beautiful and harmonic. Thank You:)! (I just had to write this. There's no damn single theme to beat that one...)
I LOVE this theme! Hope I cam put it to use in XFCE.......
How can we install it on Ubuntu 15.04 with Unity? Please suggest!

I have strived a lot to install it but failed every time! :(
Hi ! I used Ubuntu Tweak to install your theme but only icons was installed. You know how to do ?
In Apparence I do not have an "intall" button...

Mind if I use this for a Linux distribution I am developing? I can't say much about it over comments because it is in early stages, but I would love to use this as the default theme!
It's great,but i had some trouble.

When I put my window from the maximum state is switched to the normal state, the button disappeared, button area is transparent.

How can i fix it?
This flaw is not a problem on this theme, but a bug of compiz.
I found this link:

This is (brace yourselves for a very conceited and arrogant comment!) the first theme I have seen in ages that I didn't make and I would use myself!

this looks great but in ubuntu 12.04 there's no install in the Appearance preferences (assuming you mean the one under System settings) and it doesn't show up in gnome-tweak if A-New-Hope.tar.gz is extracted to .themes manually either.. wat do?
I have the same problem...
el diseño muy limpio, ligero, fuerte, y simlemente
please port this to something newer or fix it for using with either nautilus or pantheon-files or marlin or something, cause nautilus elementary is gone! :please:. Btw: best theme evar! :D , nothing compares to this, seriously, if it only was usable... :p

I've been using this since I first saw it, but I'm wondering; any chance we get a gtk3-port of this? Is seems more and more inevitable that I end up seeing gtk3 stuff on my desktop sooner or later :(
Disregard my last comment, I finally got it working after a few hours of installing packages. There's one thing I just can't get right. When I apply the theme without Emerald the border (which doesn't have transparency) looks correctly rounded, but when I turn on Emeraldand the transparency looks good there's something wrong with the window border, over the title the border seems blurry and looks 1 px down off where it's supposed to be.
If anyone has something on it I would appreciate it.
Thanks again for making this theme.
