Pokemon Moon party, post-E4

Description

So we've finished Pokemon Moon's main story. Hot dang, I haven't cared about the 'rivals' much since GSC. HoT DANG.
Not sure quite what to make of Hau, though (what the heck is that rival battle music meant to be even)
We were intending to go with Type: Null as our final team member, but we found out like... post plot that you get it post-league, so... we just took Cattcher with us all the way, because Cat earned it, dang it.

Also, another Bashful grass-type starter. Okay.

Pictured is solely our actual team- not pictured are all our other raised pokemon

Neophytos, male Decidueye
Bashful, Highly Curious
5-72, Pokeball, Overgrow, Leftovers
Brave Bird, Leaf Blade, Roost, Shadow Ball
- Our starter, because decidueye is the Least Bad of the Alolan starters, which we... do not find aesthetically pleasing.
- Could have evolved into a decidueye before we finished the first island, but we were like "heck that noise" and kept him as a rowlet until the Maile Garden/Guzma Fight #1 bit
- He is reasonable at mauling things
- Etymology: Neophytos, Greek, "New Plant", based on New Bark Town

Cattcher, female Butterfree
Mild, Mischevious
2-70, Pokeball, Compound Eyes, Leftovers
Quiver Dance, Sleep Powder, Psybeam, Air Slash
- We caught Cat for exactly what the name would suggest. Catching things.
- Swept the Fighting E4 straight out of the park. I don't think I even needed that one quiver dance we set up.

Spips, male Araquanid
Impish, Capable of taking hits
16-72, Netball, Water Bubble, Big Root
Leech Life, Lunge, Aqua Ring, Liquidation
- We definitely didn't really intend for Spips to be on the team... we knew that the weird waterbubble thing apparently evolved into a spider of some kind, so we said 'heck it', and trained him up... and then he evolved and we were like 'hhhholy shit, holy shit yes' and he's been here ever since.
- Had Scald and Infestation for ages.
- Good Spider. Many a time we threatened in-game characters that I would feed them to my spider.
- Etymology: Technically none, because we just named him as we were naming random pokemon we decided to catch, but in a twist of fate 'ps' is a transliterated form of 'psi'... which is a symbol used for things like water potential in plant cells, and fluid mechanics en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psi_(let… I found this neat, so we kept the name instead of swapping it to match the team theme

Simok, female Wishiwashi
Rash, Alert to Sounds
10-72, Quickball, Schooling, Leftovers
Scald, Aqua Ring, Tearful Look, Beat Up
- We were very disappointed to learn that schooling was not a Forme change.
- Nevertheless, Simok beats things up... although not necessarily with Beat Up.
- Why is almost everyone introduced this gen so slow
- We caught Simok with our only quickball and were very pleased.
- Etymology: Si Mok, Thai, "Mist Coloured" (although possibly 'grey'), named for Ecruteak (or Cianwood)(or both)

Ankathimarvo, female Salandit
Rash, Alert to Sounds
1-71, Nestball, Corrosion, Eviolite
Venoshock, Toxic, Nasty Plot, Flamethrower
- Has nearly 40 siblings. We wanted a girl whose soul sang with us, and salandit are not keen on producing females.
- We saved and let her evolve at one point, then staed, poked in Refresh, then reloaded our game. We'll stick with tiny adorable lizard, thanks.
- Frail, but that's a species trait. Fast (literally the second fastest member of the team), and with the ability to maul many things, however.
- Usually call her Anka for short
- Etymology: Mávro ankáthi, Greek, "black thorn" <> "thorn black" = Ankathi Marvo (rather obviously named for Blackthorn city)

Ianthe, female Mimikyu
Lax, Capable of Taking Hits
31-72, Premierball, Disguise, Scope Lens
Play Rough, Mimic, Feint Attack, Shadow Claw
- We were trying for a Healball, but she broke out of all of them, so...
- Frankly the most terrifying member of the team; fast, strong, and with an extreme talent for crits made scarier by her item.
- Why even disguise as something as lame as pikachu when there are so many cuter and cooler pokemon
- Etymology: Ianthe, Greek, Name; "violet flower", named for Violet City

Pokemon not pictured but raised:
Mysd, Mysas, Myarp, and Myas the Pickup meowths, from levels 6-8 up to 23-25
Infinirock the rockruff, 10-30 (why is this a game-specific evolution? Like... it's literally bullshit, because you can catch both forms of lycanrock in the wild. ? ?? ???? ? ????)
Adorabul the tauros, 13-19
Piipizou thefletchinder, 19-21

Also not pictured:
KanokThongha the Type: Null
Naive, Likes to thrash about
40-45, Pokeball, Battle Armor, Razor Claw
Crush Claw, Scary Face, X-Scissor, Rock Slide
- Just a baby yet, really; we only just got them
- Etymology: Named for Gold(enrod), Thai, Kanok = Gold, Thong Khao = White gold

Image commentary

I am rather pleased with how this turned out. Look at that lizardyness of Anka (we decided to do the neck things as, like... moth antennae things.), her little feeties.
Look at Ianthe's disguise, I like how it came out.
Cattcher holding Simok the wiggly fishy
Neo being a bashful wreck in front of the 'camera'
Spips just standing there, poking at him.

(I really need to remember to put a blank sheet behind the pages I scan, though, because you can just see the unfinished snakeydragons on the next page, whoops)
