Brainchild:
Brainchildren are small inhabitants of the Womb-World. Their grotesquely enlarged brains are too heavy for their feeble bodies, constraining them to an immobile existence. Even thought this might make them look inept and defenseless, they are anything but. Their massive brains enable them to create a powerful psychic aura with which they can bring other creatures under their will to do their bidding. Additionally, they are constantly linked to the Womb-Mother, relaying her orders to any lesser spawn.

Embryophis:
These slender predators move by slithering with the aid of their hypertrophied tail that makes up the majority of their entire length. Prey is quickly dispatched with the aid of four venomous claws located on their modified limbs.

Cegote:
Cegotes are massive filter-feeding cells that can be found in oceans and seas throughout the Womb-World. Unable to move on their own, they spend most of their lives sitting or lying on the ocean floor.

more on the others soon (maybe)…

What is the womb world and what is the womb mother
juniorWoodchuck's avatar
Well... you can imagine the womb world kinda like a giant disgusting glob of flesh floating through space, the womb mother being something like the consciousness of that world. The idea actually evolved from an idea I had about a sort of hell dimension so it’s not necessarily meant to be realistic. I have been wanting to return to it for a while now though so there might be an update somewhen in the future

I’m glad you like it... I have actually been thinking about revisiting this idea from time to time and to give a bit more information about what this world is and things like that so there might be more of this somewhen in the future

I like your concept of  the womb world, terras minus and  Bestiarium-somniandi  a lot. And I really hope to see more art works of these series.
Thanks for sharing such wonderful art and giving me inspirations.

Well there will definitely be more of Terra mirus and the Bestiarium somniandi as one of them is currently the main project I’m working on and for the other, I keep dreaming of new creatures almost every night so there will soon be another entry.
Aw, thank you so much for the kind words! I truly appreciate it :)

This one . . . grabbed me right from the start. Even the name, Womb world, is something that just hits a deep impulse. It gives me a shiver down my spine.

these creatures are some of the most creative I've ever seen. I can pick out the human in each and every one, from fingers to brains to teeth. There's human in them, but taken so far as to be almost unrecognizable. It's horror in the familiar, kind of reverse lovecraft.

Frankly I'd love to see more of womb world.

Thank you, I’m glad to hear that!
As this is actually one of my favorite ideas and one I’ve had for a long time, I’ll surely come back to it sooner or later...
After all, I still haven’t shown you their mother yet ;)

more about the tree climbing floof?
juniorWoodchuck's avatar
I don’t really have that much to say about that little fluffy abomination… it is basically a mix between monkeys and chameleons, using its is rather well developed tail as well as six "feet" to cling to branches

what are the "feet" modified from?
juniorWoodchuck's avatar
They're modified gills

Is that embryo photosynthesizing through it's umbilical cord?
juniorWoodchuck's avatar
Oh no, this one’s merely using it to filter smaller creatures from water… its larger cousins use their modified umbilical chords to photosynthesize though
