Okay, so critiques are all about constructive criticism, so that's what I'm going to give you. Critiques can't be all positive, although there are some great things about this drawing, which I'll start with. First, your choices of reference photos in your drawings are brilliant. I think the one you selected here is great, because you used the reference photo in an entirely new context, which is what 'referencing' is all about. The pose is really unique, and it looks really natural, even though he's floating in the air. A problem I have with this drawing is that I don't see Harry in it at all, and I don't think it's just because he's not wearing glasses. I'm not sure what it is. I think you followed the face in the reference too closely- although you should use the reference as a guide for proportions, you should lose the characters' features. That kind of brings me to my next point- you are definitely relying on the reference too much. You actually appear to be tracing the majority of the drawing, with the exception of his hand. This wouldn't really be a problem if you put this in the photomanipulation category I guess, but tracing won't really help your drawing much. I'm actually a bit disappointed, because I thought you were improving so much, but then I noticed a lot of your recent drawings seemed to be copied line by line from the original. (It could be worse- you could be doing paintovers ) I'm extremely sorry if I am somehow wrong about this, but I don't think I am. I'm just curious to know why you feel you need to do this? Do you not have confidence in your own artistic ability? I know you are a good drawer, and you will get so much better if you work without tracing. I know it can be tempting, but in a few years, it will be completely worth it.
So I first want to say that this is a really adorable piece. I think her pose is pretty unique, and executed really well. The only thing that I think needs improvement is the coloring. I know you don't have photoshop, but you don't need that to have awesome colors! I don't know if you're familiar with mudblood428's Harry Potter fanart, but she does beautiful illustrations with colored pencils: [link] You have great drawing skills like she does, but her coloring has a lot more depth. I also would love to see some more variations in your characters faces; I've noticed you've start to differentiate your characters features, but the facial structure is still pretty uniform. I'd like to see you exaggerate facial proportions and shape a bit more instead of relying on hairstyles to make your characters look different, like many people do. (Although your characters hairstyles are always amazing ) I hope you don't think my critique is too harsh, because I really love the drawing. I'm just picking out little things that I think could make your art that much better
