My Bio
I work for the U.S. National Park Service (unfortunately most of my work is inside), and I spend my spare time trying to capture inspiring photographs. My goal is to create images compelling enough to advance the preservation of our natural surroundings. My deepest peace comes when I'm immersed in nature...whether that is walking through waist-high prairie grasses, wading in tanin-stained swamps, or scrambling over treeline in the mountains.

Thanks so much for viewing and commenting on my work!

I just finished organizing my 2009 photographs in Lightroom, so I thought I'd share a summary. I was extremely fortunate to travel for both work and fun. The result was 35,330 photographs from six states and three countries. Arizona and Costa Rica were brand new locations...each harboring an amazing diversity of wildlife. Everglades National Park in Florida was once again the spot that I visited most frequently. It's hard to beat a 1.5 million acre playground...even if the mosquitoes are a little vicious. United States (31,401)   Arizona (1,940)   Colorado (5,107)   Florida (20,609)   Kansas (2,535)   Oregon (956)   Washington (1

Exciting news! One of my Everglades photographs was recently selected as a top 10 finalist in the 2009 Canon photography in the parks contest. Now I'm chasing the grand prize. :D The good news is that the winner is selected by public voting (today through Nov. 23rd). I would certainly appreciate if you would take the time to review the entries and select your favorite. If it happens to be mine, then all the better...may the best photograph win. Note: When you click the link below you must vote in the Teen group before proceeding to the Adult category where you'll find my dusk photograph (Last Light on the Pinelands - shown above) featuring

Ongoing Exhibit: "Subtle Beauty and Seasonal Changes" Everglades National Park, Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center Gallery, Homestead, Florida June 15-September 30, 2009 http://www.nps.gov/ever/parknews/coe-visitor-center-art-exhibit.htm I'm proud to announce that 30 of my photographs from Everglades/Dry Tortugas National Park are on exhibit in the main Everglades National Park visitor center through the end of September. It's really fun to show my work in a park that means so much to me. If you are in the Miami area this summer, you might consider dropping by for a visit. Thanks everyone!

Beautiful, amazing pictures!
Wow, your gallery is just stunning!
Hi! I just wanted to say your photography is so beautiful and compelling! You are so lucky to be able to work with the U.S National Park service, even if it is indoor! Like you, I am at my best when I am immersed in nature, and hope to have a career with the Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission, as a Wildlife Officer, so I could be outdoors at all times! Keep up with the beautiful photographs! X3
Your gallery is simply wonderful. Being a fan of nature myself, watching is a must. ^^
