The sunlight in her eyes

Aquila got out of the blacksmiths den the sun low in the sky. He carried the bracelets to a clearing by the lake. He placed them in front of him and sat down. He had told Crixus to meet him here at sunset. He placed his tail over the bracelets hiding them from view. His heart was thumping in his chest as he waited. He knew what to say but it wouldn't be easy. He had known he needed to tell her since they'd got back. He spotted Crixus's beautiful spotted pelt coming towards him.

"Hey Aquila whats up? You said you needed to talk" Crixus asked her ears perked as she approached him.

He smiled at her his heart feeling like it was trying to pound its way out of his chest. He moved his tail to show the shining silver and gem embedded bracelets.

"Crixus. Would you do me the honor of being your mate?" He asked his heart pounding.
