Childhood torn away

(Takes place after Slate gets captured)

"Daddy why do cats kill each other?" Zariah asked her curious eyes wide.
"Anger. Revenge, or Survival" Zariah frowned at her fathers answer "I don't understand other cats. Anger or revenge isn't a reason to kill someone. Everyone deserves to live" She huffed her tail twitching.

Zariah let out a snarl and tore into the fallen tree. She was so furious she couldn't speak. She had been waiting calmly for her daddy to come back to camp but he had not. Instead she had been told that he had been captured. By those scum of the earth. She had felt numb at first. When they had all gone to sleep the rage started to seep into her and she couldn't stay in camp so she went out of camp alone. She slammed her paw into the tree trunk showing no mercy to its thick bark. The hunters had already taken Raven and Magpie. But that wasn't enough for them.

She dug her claws deep into the tree trunk imagining it was a hunter. She couldn't wait until the day when she could tear the fur off their backs. She hated them. She wanted to make them suffer as she had. All she wanted to do was KILL them. TEAR them apart! GUT THEM! MAKE THEM REGRET EVERYTHING THEY HAD EVER DONE! She stopped her onslaught on the tree as she struggled to hold back sobs. She was full of rage but she also was feeling so much despair She understood why cats killed now. She just wanted her dad back. She'd make them give him back. No matter what it took.
