It makes me think of the past and present combined. Aside from the fairy lights, the whole closeness of the buildings together remind me of the various markets in Cairo, and the design on the right feels distinctly modern. To me it's like a representation of how the past and present of Egypt are still intertwined. That's how I see it anyway... Not sure if that's what was intended so sorry if it's really off. Fantastic though!

I love how warm the colors are, but it looks very round and curvy... perhaps you could try to use thinner, longer lines that give it a harsher appearance to show how bid the perspective is?
Also be careful with every detail. Details make the masterpieces, and it's nice when the eye wonders around analysing all the tiny particular details!:)

Thanks for the comments! Yeah, this piece is a few years old, I would definitely approach it in a different way now.

Well if you wanted that maybe you could make them arcane strings holding up glowing hieroglyphs? :)

I like the lighting - the style also reminds me of neo-modern but in Egyptian style. My only kinda balh (though its realistic) is the clothslines hanging from the buildings.

LOL, they were actually meant to be tattered banners or that sorta thing, or pulley systems that would allow people to communicate with each other across the chasm... but yeah, everyone says they look like clotheslines!

The top circle of the bridge needs to be lightened a touch on the left side - saying this only because the left side and the top of the inside of the circle are the same depth

very organic! Really looks like the habitation of a cliff. The apparently smooth circle at the middle is really surreal, like a natural skylight over the canyon.

Thanks! I actually have to adjust that a bit... my instructor says that one's eye naturally gravitates to simple shapes, like that circle/oval. While it is part of the composition, I think the statue to the left is more important. Basically, I will have to diminish that area in some way.

I've said it before, I say it again: you seriously don't cease to impress!

I think I like the perspective on this one the most, and add to that my admirations for all things Egyptian, this is another fav! :D Great work on the sky and the clouds, too. :horns:

How're you doing apart from that? Still interested in my over-the-top request? ;p

Beautiful colours and textures and a fantastic concept.
Only problem for me is the rough look of the stonework, it looks cleaner and sharper than that now, let alone when it was made.

Love those Halloween pics, LOL!! It's awesome that you've been to Egypt and have actually seen the ancient ruins, it's on the list of places to visit along with India, Turkey, Spain, Cambodia...

Very Cool. I love Egyptian stuff but I love the touch you have added here because it looks like you mixed the Valley of the Kings with the old sub lot apartments of New York in the Bronx during the depression and how they use to hang the laundry in between the buildings on the clothing lines. Your color pallet is awesome as well. The only thing I think that could make it strong would to increase the sunlight on the clouds right between the two bridges I think it would make it a much stronger piece and would work with that cool dynamic lighting that you have going.

LOL, that's a really interesting observation, I never thought about it that way but it makes sense. I was actually thinking of prayer flags and that sorta thing, you know, devotional stuff, but laundry could work as well, maybe it's mixed in there!
The color palette was easy, I just used complimentary colors more or less.
I'll try out your recommendation as well regarding the lighting, thanks again for your comments!
