Literature Text
Words drop like stones,
Sending ripples in the water,
A continuous reflection of each other,
Bounding surrounding,
Bouncing and reinforcing,
The stillness around us.
And yet the truth hangs between us,
As bright as a star…
It's silence so loud,
It defines us.
And in that moment…
We embrace,
Allowing the moment to be -
To be defined,
And not maligned.
We hold each other,
And as the ripples hit us,
We smile and accept -
Accept what we cannot change,
And what must be.
Literature
Teardrop
Like a teardrop before existence
The world breaks itself upon me
My mind, and enigmatic struggle within itself
The ripples my soul remembers. My sight, my mind, the world is torn
The ways my eyes do shrink
In them, have revealed a mystery unto eternity
The worn path of lifeBubbles upon my mind
They sway and grow, in pain, in virtueByron Clugston
Literature
Peaceful
Against all odds
When for the littlest of moments
He gives me peace
It feels like every piece is set in place
It feels so right
Pure
Real
And mine
But it never lasts
Literature
It's Temporary
“Only for a moment”
Loops day after day
In the back of the mind
When the floodwaters rise
And wrap around my throat
It’s a soothing balm
For a weary plain
Of thistle and thorn
Where stray winds catch fire
“This too shall pass”
Only strengthens its bind
Around my dulled, dying heart
As light flows into shade
“Only for a moment”
Feigns dead in my shadow,
Until I wade back to land,
Until a desert's in bloom
Until I pulse renewed
And light refloods my form
