since I learned about the extremely low melting point of pewter (bout 500 degrees) I wanted to do pewter casting, my first attempt was... bad
first I made a model out of tea candle wax, I sculpted it with a blade, heating the blade and melting the wax, or just cutting it. I found it was easier to make the parts separate and attach them with warm wax. After I finished it, I coated it in a thick layer of ceramic clay. The clay dried (after a few days) and I melted the wax out in the oven (in a bowl to catch the wax) I melted the metal and poured it into the cast, and, this is what came from it... bears a slight resemblance to the original sculpture.
